Background: While previous reports have shown that hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection affects lipid metabolism and vice versa, the impact of dyslipidemia on the functional cure of HBV infection following peginterferon alfa (PegIFNα) therapy remains unknown. Hence, this study aimed to investigate the effect of dyslipidemia on hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) clearance and develop a nomogram model for predicting patients for whom PegIFNα therapy is indicated.
Methods: A total of 160 nucleos(t)ide analogues (NAs)- experienced chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients treated with PegIFNα (180 µg/week) were enrolled in this study.

Gastric cancer (GC) is a common malignant tumor of the digestive tract, and chemoresistance significantly impacts GC patients' prognosis. PANoptosis has been associated with oxaliplatin-induced cell death. However, the direct regulatory role of YBX1 in cellular chemoresistance through PANoptosis remains unclear.

Objective: Patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) often fail to achieve clearance of the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) with peginterferon treatment. Our study aimed to develop a simple-to-use scoring system to predict the likelihood of HBsAg clearance following treatment with peginterferon alfa-2b(PEG-IFN-α2b) in patients with CHB.
Methods: A total of 231 patients were enrolled and divided into HBsAg clearance ( = 37) and non-HBsAg clearance ( = 194) groups.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a formidable disease due to the intricate mechanisms that drive its proliferation and metastasis. Despite significant progress in cancer research, the integration of these mechanisms that influence cancer cell behavior remains elusive. Therefore, it is imperative to comprehensively elucidate the underlying mechanisms driving CRC proliferation and metastasis.

To explore immune-related molecules that affect the prognosis of endometrial carcinoma (EC) using bioinformatic data mining. The expression data related to EC were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus databases. After differential expression analysis, the intersection with immune related genes in the ImmPort database was used to obtain immune related differentially expressed genes (IRDEGs).

To investigate the effect of ubiquitin mutation at position 331 of tumor necrosis factor receptor related factor 6 (TRAF6) on the biological characteristics of colorectal cancer cells and its mechanism. lentivirus wild type (pCDH-3×FLAG-TRAF6) and mutation (pCDH-3×FLAG-TRAF6-331mut) of TRAF6 gene expression plasmid with green fluorescent protein tag were used to infect colorectal cancer cells SW480 and HCT116, respectively. The infection was observed by fluorescence microscope, and the expressions of TRAF6 and TRAF6-331mut in cells was detected by western blot.

CD7 and CD57 are related to the differentiation and functional stages of CD8 T cells. However, the role of their combined presence in CD8 T cells in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, especially those with end-stage liver disease, remains unclear. Blood samples from healthy volunteers and patients with chronic hepatitis B were analyzed via Luminex assay and ELISA to measure plasma cytokine levels.

Background/aim: Colorectal cancer (CRC) cells secrete inflammatory cytokines that affect CRC progression. The aim of the present study was to determine if micro-RNA-140(miR-140) regulates inflammatory cytokine secretion induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in colorectal cancer cells by targeting tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR)-associated factor 6 (TRAF6).
Materials And Methods: Fifty fresh colon-cancer specimens and normal colorectal tissues were collected from patients with CRC and tested for the expression miR-140.

Aim: To perform a meta-analysis to investigate the correlation between body mass index (BMI) and the short-term outcomes of laparoscopic gastrectomy (LG) for gastric cancer (GC) in Asian patients.
Methods: The PubMed, Cochrane, EMBASE, and Web of Science databases were searched for studies that focused on the impact of obesity on the short-term outcomes of LG for GC in Asian patients who were classified into a high BMI (BMI ≥ 25 kg/m) or low BMI group (BMI < 25 kg/m). The results are expressed using the pooled odds ratio (OR) for binary variables and standard mean difference (SMD) for continuous variables with 95% confidence interval (CI), and were calculated according to the fixed-effects model while heterogeneity was not apparent or a random-effects model while heterogeneity was apparent.

Sarcosine is a potential prostate cancer marker. In this study, we developed a method of three-phase solvent bar liquid-phase microextraction combined with high-performance liquid chromatography to determine sarcosine after derivatization with 4-dimethylarminoazobenzene-4-sulfonyl chloride from human urine. The effects of different extraction conditions on extraction efficiency were investigated and optimized.

Background And Aim: Lipopolysaccharide(LPS) could promote the progression of colorectal cancer, but the specific regulatory mechanisms are largely unknown. So, this study aim to clarify the mechanisms that LPS upregulated VEGFR-3, which promotes colorectal cancer cells migration and invasion with a mechanism of increased NF-κB bind to the promoter of VEGFR-3.
Methods: The present study examined the VEGFR-3 expression in colorectal cancer tissues and analyzed the relationship between the VEGFR-3 expression with clinical parameters.
