Background: The diversity of clinical trajectories in diabetic kidney disease (DKD) has made blood and biochemical urine markers less precise, while renal puncture, the gold standard, is almost impossible in the assessment of diabetic kidney disease, and the value of functional magnetic resonance imaging in the evaluation of diabetic pathological alterations is increasingly recognized.
Methods: The literature on functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) for the assessment of renal alterations in diabetic kidney disease was searched in PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Embase databases. The search time limit is from database creation to March 10, 2023.

Background: Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) significantly reduce postprandial blood glucose, inhibit appetite, and delay gastrointestinal emptying. However, it is controversial that some patients are intolerant to GLP-1RAs.
Methods: PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) using GLP-1RAs with documented withdrawal due to gastrointestinal adverse reactions (GI AEs) from their inception to September 28, 2022.

Bacterial infection can hinder the infected wound healing process. Because of the growing drug-resistance bacteria, there is an urgent desire to develop alternative antibacterial strategies to the antibiotics. Herein, the quaternized chitosan coated CuS (CuS-QCS) nanozyme with peroxidase (POD)-like activity was developed through a facile biomineralized approach for synergistic efficient antibacterial therapy and wound healing.

Unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA) is a severe challenge to reproductive females worldwide, and its etiology and pathogenesis have not yet been fully clarified. Abnormal intercellular communication between macrophages (Mφ) and decidual stromal cells (DSCs) or trophoblasts has been supposed to be the key to URSA. However, the exact molecular mechanisms in the crosstalk are not yet well understood.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a malignant tumor associated with a high mortality rate. While the advent of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has been a gamechanger, only a small percentage of CRC patients benefit from ICIs. The pathological mechanism of CRC is not well understood, but somatic mutations, especially missense mutations, are believed to play an important role.

Background: Natural killer (NK) cells are classified as innate immune cells which can directly recognize and kill tumor cells without antigen sensitization. NK cell-based adoptive immunotherapy for blood malignancies has attracted more attention in recent years.
Objective: To analyze different NK cell subsets in the peripheral blood and bone marrow (BM) of patients with multiple myeloma (MM).

Cancer progression and metastases are the leading causes of poor outcomes in patients with colon cancer. Colon cancer metastasis is a multigene, multistep, multistage complex process in which target genes, microRNAs, epithelial-stromal transformation, tumour stem cells, the tumour microenvironment, and various cell signalling pathways are implicated in the progression and metastasis of colon cancer. Although conventional therapies have made significant advances in treating the progression and metastasis of colorectal cancer, they have failed to improve survival outcomes.

Transarterial embolization (TAE) constitutes the gold standard for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. The effect of combination of TAE and peglated-H1/HGFK1 nanoparticles was explored on hepatocellular carcinoma. MTT and Annexin V-FITC were used to determine the cell viability and apoptosis of HepG2, ml-1, LO2, and VX2 cells after the treatment of HGFK1.

Background: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a common chronic liver disease, and among the non-invasive tests, controlled attenuation parameter (CAP) and liver stiffness measurement (LSM) have shown better diagnostic performance in NAFLD. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the performance of CAP and LSM for assessing steatosis and fibrosis in NAFLD.
Methods: We searched the PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Embase databases for relevant articles published up to February 13, 2022, and selected studies that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and evaluated the quality of evidence.

Aims: Yes-associated protein (YAP), a downstream protein in the Hippo signaling pathway, plays an important role in tumor proliferation, including in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). α-hederin, a monodesmosidic triterpenoid saponin isolated from , displayed anti-cancer effects on several cancer cell lines but the precise mechanism has not been ascertained. In the present study, we explored the effects of α-hederin on cell proliferation and apoptosis in human HCC cell lines and the underlying mechanisms.

Background: Compound capsule (CTCC), an antitumor Chinese patent medicine, has been commonly prescribed as an adjunctive agent to chemotherapy for the management of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC); however, the effects of CTCC added to chemotherapy for NSCLC patients have never been comprehensively evaluated or summarized.
Purpose: To assess the synergistic effects of CTCC and chemotherapy on NSCLC. .
Background: Atractylenolide I (AT-I) is an active component that is isolated from Rhizoma Atractylodis macrocephalae and it exerts anti-apoptotic, anti-oxidant, and anti-coagulant properties, and has been widely applied in the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in China. This study aimed to investigate the effects and possible mechanism of AT-I on intestinal dysbacteriosis in a mouse model.
Methods: Mice dysbacteriosis models were established and treated with AT-I, and the intestinal microbiome of the mice were compared.

Altered intestinal microbial composition promotes intestinal barrier dysfunction and triggers the initiation and recurrence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Current treatments for IBD are focused on control of inflammation rather than on maintaining intestinal epithelial barrier function. Here, we show that the internalization of Gram-negative bacterial outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) in human intestinal epithelial cells promotes recruitment of caspase-5 and PIKfyve to early endosomal membranes via sorting nexin 10 (SNX10), resulting in LPS release from OMVs into the cytosol.

Runjing Decoction (RJD) is a prescription of traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of oligoasthenospermia. However, the molecular mechanism of RJD on oligoasthenospermia still remains unknown. A model of oligoasthenospermia was induced in 30 Sprague Dawley rats by intraperitoneal injection of cyclophosphamide at 35 mg/kg per day for 5 days and treated by intragastric RJD (13.
