Effect of da Vinci robot versus thoracoscopic surgery on lung function and oxidative stress levels in NSCLC patients: a propensity score-matched study.

Background: To evaluate the short-term efficacy, lung function, and oxidative stress levels between the robotic-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (RATS) and video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery group (VATS) for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study, selecting 248 NSCLC patients who underwent minimally invasive lobectomy at the Department of Thoracic Surgery, Gansu Provincial People's Hospital, from August 2019 to February 2023. There were 105 patients in the RATS group and 143 patients in the VATS group.

Methods: Two investigators independently searched the PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases for relevant studies published from inception to January 6, 2023, without any restrictions on language. Standard mean differences and 95% confidence intervals were calculated using fixed or random effects models.

Comparison of clinical efficacy of da Vinci robot-assisted lung cancer surgery with two-, three- and four-hole approaches.

Orifice reduction strategies for da Vinci robotic surgery have been a hot topic of research in recent years. We retrospectively analyzed the perioperative outcomes of robotic-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (RATS) with two, three, and four-hole approaches in radical lung cancer surgery. Our results revealed that the two-hole group has advantages in terms of operative time, postoperative 3-day drainage, postoperative drainage time, postoperative hospital stay and postoperative day 3 visual analogue scale (VAS) pain scores.

Purpose: To develop a deep learning-based cascaded HRNet model, in order to automatically measure X-ray imaging parameters of lumbar sagittal curvature and to evaluate its prediction performance.

Methods: A total of 3730 lumbar lateral digital radiography (DR) images were collected from picture archiving and communication system (PACS). Among them, 3150 images were randomly selected as the training dataset and validation dataset, and 580 images as the test dataset.

Background: It has been demonstrated that widespread structural and functional brain alterations influence the development of cognitive impairment in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Objective: The aim of this study is to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the effectiveness of the medial parapatellar approach via the vastus medialis obliquus muscle in comparison with the standard medial parapatellar approach for total knee arthroplasty, using a systematic approach.

Methods: A computer search was conducted on PubMed, EMBASE, Medline, Cochrane libraries, and Web of Science databases to comprehensively collect randomized controlled studies on minimally invasive (MMV) approaches for knee arthroplasty, specifically the vastus and medial parapatellar (MP) approaches. Two authors independently screened the literature based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, evaluated the quality of the included studies using the Cochrane systematic review method, and performed a meta-analysis using RevMan 5.

Microvascular invasion (MVI) is a significant risk factor for recurrence and poor prognosis after surgical resection for HCC patients. The retrotransposon known as long interspersed nuclear element-1 (LINE-1), which is currently the sole autonomously mobile transposon in the human genome, can result in insertional mutations, chromosomal rearrangements, and genomic instability. In recent years, numerous studies have shown that LINE-1 is involved in the development of various diseases and also plays an important role in the immune regulation of the organism. The expression of LINE-1 in gynecologic tumors suggests that it is expected to be an independent indicator for early diagnosis and prognosis, and also, as a therapeutic target, LINE-1 is closely associated with gynecologic tumor prognosis.
