Hesperidin is a kind of flavonoids, which has the biological activities of antioxidation, anti-inflammation, antibacterial, anti-virus, anti-allergy, anti-cancer, heart protection and neuroprotection. More and more studies have begun to pay attention to the therapeutic prospect of hesperidin in central nervous system (CNS) diseases. This paper describes its current role in the treatment of central nervous system diseases, especially stroke, and discusses its bioavailability, so as to provide a theoretical basis for the clinical application of hesperidin.

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is characterized by insulin resistance (IR) and is often accompanied by mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The detrimental effects of T2DM and IR on the hippocampus have been extensively demonstrated. Few studies have examined the effects of IR on structure and function of hippocampal subfields in T2DM-MCI patients.

Contemporary scientific inquiries have highlighted the involvement of intestinal microbiota and their metabolic by-products in the initiation and progression of HIRI.

Background: Fibrosing mediastinitis (FM) is a rare yet fatal condition, caused by different triggers and frequently culminating in the obstruction of the pulmonary vasculature and airways, often leading to pulmonary hypertension and right heart failure. Percutaneous transluminal pulmonary venoplasty (PTPV) is an emerging treatment for pulmonary vein stenosis (PVS) caused by FM. Our previous study showed as high as 24% of in-stent restenosis (ISR) in FM.

Background: Breast cancer (BC) is the most common cancer in women, and its progression is closely related to the phenomenon of anoikis. Anoikis, the specific programmed death resulting from a lack of contact between cells and the extracellular matrix, has recently been recognized as playing a critical role in tumor initiation, maintenance, and treatment. The ability of cancer cells to resist anoikis leads to cancer progression and metastatic colonization.

Proangiogenic potential of plasma exosomes from prostate cancer patients.

Background: The complexity of cancer is intricately linked to its multifaceted biological processes, including the roles of the tumor microenvironment (TME) as well as genetic and metabolic regulation. Histone lactylation has recently emerged as a novel epigenetic modification mechanism that plays a pivotal role in regulating cancer initiation, proliferation, invasion, and metastasis.

Objective: This review aims to elucidate the role of histone lactylation in modulating various aspects of tumor biology, including DNA repair mechanisms, glycolytic metabolic abnormalities, functions of non-tumor cells in the TME, and the promotion of tumor inflammatory responses and immune escape.

Although immune checkpoint inhibitors (anti-PD-1 antibody, anti-PD-L1 antibody, and anti-CTLA-4 antibody) have displayed considerable success in the treatment of malignant tumors, the therapeutic effect is still unsatisfactory for a portion of patients.
