Background And Purpose: Our previous research discovered that cinnamamide derivatives are a new type of potential cardioprotective agents myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (MIR) injury, among which Compound 10 exhibits wonderful beneficial action in vitro. However, the exact mechanism of Compound 10 still needs to be elucidated.

Experimental Approach: The protective effect of Compound 10 was determined by detecting the cell viability and LDH leakage rate in H9c2 cells subjected to HO Alterations of electrocardiogram, echocardiography, cardiac infarct area, histopathology and serum myocardial zymogram were tested in MIR rats.

Electronic address:

Article Synopsis
  • This study focuses on Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease and Behcet's uveitis (BU), two serious conditions that can threaten vision due to uveitis.
  • Researchers conducted a quantitative analysis of proteins found in exosomes from the aqueous humor of 84 patients, identifying 65 differentially expressed proteins in VKH and 40 in BU.
  • The study highlights the role of complement-related pathways in these diseases, with a specific emphasis on the complement C1q subcomponent subunit B (C1QB), suggesting that targeting these pathways could lead to potential treatments.

Objective: To investigate the effects of knocking down nucleostemin ( NS) combined with rapamycin (RAPA) on autophagy and apoptosis in HL-60 cells , and to explore its role in HL-60 cells .

Methods: The expression of NS protein was detected using Western blot , after transfection of HL-60 cells was achieved by the recombinant lentviral vector NS -RNAi-GV248 . Flow cytometry was used to detect changes in cells apoptosis after NS silencing/ rapamycin for 24 , 48 hours , and the expressions of NS , LC3 , p62 , BCL-2 and Bax proteins in cells were detected by Western blot.

The deubiquitinating enzyme USP1 (ubiquitin-specific protease 1) plays a role in the progression of various tumors, emerging as a potential therapeutic target. This study aimed to determine the role of USP1 as a therapeutic target in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We detected USP1 expression in the tumor and adjacent tissues of patients with HCC using immunohistochemical staining.

Cathelicidin-related antimicrobial peptide (CRAMP), an antimicrobial peptide, was reported to protect against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury. However, the effect of CRAMP on pressure overload-induced cardiac hypertrophy was unknown. This study explored the role of CRAMP on cardiac hypertrophy.

Purpose: Lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A(2) (Lp-PLA(2)) is involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, especially in advanced plaques. In the present study, the abilities of darapladib, a selective Lp-PLA(2) inhibitor, and lentivirus-mediated Lp-PLA(2) silencing on inflammation and atherosclerosis in apolipoprotein E-deficient mice were compared.

Methods: Apolipoprotein E-deficient mice were fed on a high-fat diet and a constrictive collar was placed around the left carotid artery to induce plaque formation.
