Purpose: This study aimed to assess the importance of computed tomography (CT) imaging in the diagnostic and prognostic evaluation of renal epithelioid angiomyolipoma (EAML).

Materials And Methods: This study comprised 63 patients diagnosed with renal EAML in the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University during 2010-2021, who met the inclusion criteria. The clinical, pathological, and therapeutic features were analyzed to determine the optimum diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) have strong regenerative potential and show good application prospects for treating clinical diseases. However, in the process of BMSC transplantation for treating ischemic and hypoxic diseases, BMSCs have high rates of apoptosis in the hypoxic microenvironment of transplantation, which significantly affects the transplantation efficacy. Our previous studies have confirmed the key role of long non-coding RNA Tmem235 (LncRNA Tmem235) in the process of hypoxia-induced BMSC apoptosis and its downstream regulatory mechanism, but the upstream mechanism by which hypoxia regulates LncRNA Tmem235 expression to induce BMSC apoptosis is still unclear.

TANK (TRAF family member associated NF-κB activator) acts as a member of scaffold proteins participated in the development of multiple diseases. However, its function in process of cardiac hypertrophy is still unknown. In this study, we observed an increased expression of TANK in murine hypertrophic hearts after aortic banding, suggesting that TANK may be involved in the pathogenesis of cardiac hypertrophy.

Epidermal growth factor-like domain multiple 7 (EGFL7) is an important sport stimulating factor and motility related factors significantly enhanced the tumor cell metastasis and overexpressed in many cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), associated with tumorigenesis. However, the molecular mechanism by which EGFL7 regulates HCC cell proliferation and apoptosis and the correlation between EGFL7 and cyclin-dependent kinases regulatory subunit 2 (CKS2), which is essential for biological function, have not fully explained. In this study, EGFL7 and CKS2 expression in patients with HCC was measured by real-time polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry.

This study explored the predictive value of serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels combined with enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE). One hundred and seventeen patients who received TACE from June 2010 to December 2012 in our hospital were included in this study. Serum VEGF and CRP levels before and after TACE were determined by ELISA and single immunodiffusion method for analyzing the association of serum levels with pathological features.

Objective: Comparisons of mini-midvastus (mMV) with mini-medial parapatellar (mMPP) approach in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) have been performed in the past but were often compromised by variables such as disease, pain tolerance, bone quality, and surgeon. The aim of this study was to minimize the influence of these factors in order to more accurately evaluate these 2 approaches.

Methods: Forty-five patients who had bilateral arthritis of the knee with similar deformity and preoperative range of motion (ROM) on both sides agreed to have 1 knee replaced via mMV approach (Group I) and the other via mMPP approach (Group II) were evaluated.

Objective: To investigate the gene mutations of ADAMTS13 in a highly suspected hereditary thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) patient, and then make a progressive diagnosis and adjust the plan of therapy.

Methods: ADAMTS13 activity and inhibitor were determined by residual-collagen binding assay during several episodes. Genomic DNA extracted from the proband's peripheral blood was used for amplification of 29 exons and exon/intron boundaries of ADAMTS13 by PCR.
