Background: The gut microbiome interacts with the central nervous system through the gut-brain axis, and this interaction involves neuronal, endocrine, and immune mechanisms, among others, which allow the microbiota to influence and respond to a variety of behavioral and mental conditions.

Aim: To explore the correlation between cognitive impairment and gut microbiota imbalance in patients with schizophrenia.

Methods: A total of 498 untreated patients with schizophrenia admitted to our hospital from July 2020 to July 2022 were selected as the case group, while 498 healthy volunteers who underwent physical examinations at our hospital during the same period were selected as a control group.

Background: Studies have shown that patients with lung adenocarcinoma exhibit a poor prognosis, and the overall effective rate of immunotherapy is relatively low. Previous studies reported on the BPIFB2 gene have shown that it participates in immune regulation in gastric cancer; however, the role and mechanisms of BPIFB2 in lung cancer remain unclear. The present study evaluated the mechanism of BPIFB2 in lung adenocarcinoma.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a highly malignant cancer. Although competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA)-based profiling has been investigated in patients with LUAD, it has not been specifically used to study metastasis in LUAD. We found 130 differentially expressed (DE) lncRNAs, 32 DE miRNAs and 981 DE mRNAs from patients with LUAD in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have already been proposed to be implicated in the development of ischaemic stroke. We aim to investigate the role of miR-130a in the neurological deficit and angiogenesis in rats with ischaemic stroke by regulating X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein (XIAP). Middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) models were established by suture-occluded method, and MCAO rats were then treated with miR-130a mimics/inhibitors or/and altered XIAP for detection of changes of rats' neurological function, nerve damage and angiogenesis in MCAO rats.

Background: This study is performed to investigate the effects of adenovirus-mediated X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein (XIAP) overexpressed bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) on brain injury in rats with cerebral palsy (CP).

Methods: Rat's BMSCs were cultured and identified. The XIAP gene of BMSCs was modified by adenovirus expression vector Ad-XIAP-GFP.
