Inflammation is a crucial factor in intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) pathophysiology, but specific inflammatory biomarkers in ICH patients remain unclear. The in-hospital mortality rate remains significantly high in septic shock patients with malignancies. This study investigates whether early and high-volume administration of sodium bicarbonate during continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) can reduce 28-day mortality, increase shock reversal rates, and shorten the duration of CRRT, mechanical ventilation, and intensive care unit (ICU) stays.

RET-AREAL: A multi-center, real-world data analysis on the efficacy of pralsetinib in acquired RET fusion after resistance to EGFR/ALK-TKIs.

Pralsetinib demonstrated impressive improvement of survival in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients harbored de novo RET fusion. However, the efficacy in patients with acquired RET fusion after resistance to EGFR/ALK-TKIs has only been reported on a case-by-case basis, and the strategy for overcoming the acquired RET fusion has not been fully investigated. This multicenter, real-world analysis enrolled 32 patients with unresectable NSCLC harbored acquired RET fusion after resistance to EGFR/ALK-TKIs in 23 centers across China from July 1st, 2018 to Nov 23rd, 2022.

Identification of clinicopathological-specific driver gene and genetic subtyping of colorectal cancer.

This study analyzed targeted sequencing data from 6530 tissue samples from patients with metastatic Chinese colorectal cancer (CRC) to identify low mutation frequency and subgroup-specific driver genes, using three algorithms for overall CRC as well as across different clinicopathological subgroups. We analyzed 425 cancer-related genes, identifying 101 potential driver genes, including 36 novel to CRC. Notably, some genes demonstrated subgroup specificity; for instance, ERBB4 was found as a male-specific driver gene and mutations of ERBB4 only influenced the prognosis of male patients with CRC.

The impact of workplace bullying on depression among clinical nurses in China: A comparative analysis.

The objective of this study is to examine the phenomenon of workplace bullying and its potential associations with burnout and depression among clinical nurses in China. A convenience sampling method was utilized to conduct a survey among 415 clinical nurses across 9 hospitals. All questionnaires were completed within a 2-week period in October 2023.

Pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia misdiagnosed as cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma: a case report.

Pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia (PEH) is a rare histopathological reaction. Cases of PEH have been infrequently reported, and it's even rare to appear as a postsurgical complication. This case report describes the development of multiple masses and purulent discharge around an abdominal scar following surgery for hepatocellular carcinoma, which morphologically resembles squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), though pathology revealed no signs of malignancy.

Aims: To classify the unmet integrated care needs of older adults with multimorbidity and to explore the factors associated with different categories of unmet integrated care needs among the target population.

Design: A cross-sectional survey using the statistical method of latent profile analysis.

Methods: From July 2022 to March 2023, 397 older adults with multimorbidity, aged 60 years or older, were recruited from one primary healthcare setting and from four secondary and tertiary hospitals to participate in face-to-face questionnaire surveys.

Case Presentation: A 40-year-old Mongoloid male patient came to our outpatient clinic with painful swelling of the left eye and redness, after being cut by a tree branch 1 week prior. Primary small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the prostate is extremely rare, highly aggressive, and has a very poor prognosis, with an overall survival typically not exceeding one year.
