Zhongfeng Xingnao Decoction(ZFXN) has been utilized for treating intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH) in China, while the pharmacological mechanism of ZFXN remains unclear. Exploring the pharmacological roles of ZFXN is critical for guiding the treatment of cerebrovascular diseases. In this study, a rat model of ICH was constructed by injection of Ⅶ collagenase in the right caudate nucleus.

Thyroid cancer can be classified into three different types based on the degree of differentiation: well-differentiated, poorly differentiated, and anaplastic thyroid carcinoma. Well-differentiated thyroid cancer refers to cancer cells that closely resemble normal thyroid cells, while poorly differentiated and anaplastic thyroid carcinoma are characterized by cells that have lost their resemblance to normal thyroid cells. Advanced thyroid carcinoma, regardless of its degree of differentiation, is known to have a higher likelihood of disease progression and is generally associated with a poor prognosis.

Objective: This study was designed to explore the effects of low-dose levothyroxine (LT4) on levels of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and c-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) in neonates with hypothyroidism (NH).

Methods: In this retrospective study, a total of 90 cases of NH screened out and confirmed by the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University from October 2014 to February 2018 were selected as a study group. 80 healthy children who underwent physical examination during the same time period were enrolled as controls.

Liver fibrosis is caused by a variety of pathogenic factors. It is mainly characterized by chronic liver damage mediated by the imbalance between extracellular matrix synthesis and degradation. If the injury factor cannot be removed for a long time, fibrosis will progress to cirrhosis or even cancer.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the use of single residue substitution to promote the formation of pi-stacking interactions between peptides and Human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-A*2402 molecules to improve the affinity of peptides and HLA molecules, as well as the level of cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) cells activated by peptides-HLA (p-HLA) complex.

Methods: Molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation were used to simulate and analyze the interactions and binding free energies between HLA-A*2402-restricted antigen peptides and HLA molecules, before and after the single residue substitution. HLA-A*2402 restricted antigen peptides before and after the single residue replacement were loaded into dendritic cells (DCs) in vitro, and further Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSpot (ELispot) test was carried out to evaluate the effect of modified antigen peptides on the immune activation of CTL cells.

Heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) due to primary myelofibrosis (PMF) is secondary to progressive pancytopenia, which is a rare and difficult to treat condition. We report this case with the aim of sharing our experiences and exploring a safe and effective way to treat patients with HMB due to PMF. A 40-year-old woman who had been taking combined oral contraceptives (COCs) for eight years was admitted to our hospital with HMB.

Objective: This research aimed to probe into the effect of miR-145-5p in psoriasis by regulating Wnt/β-catenin.

Methods: A total of 45 psoriasis patients treated in our hospital were enrolled into an observation group (OG), and other 40 healthy individuals in physical examination over the same period were enrolled into a control group (CG). miR-145-5p in both groups was quantified, and its value in diagnosis and recurrence prediction of psoriasis was analyzed.

Objective: To analyze the expression levels of total serum interleukin (IL)-6 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-C in children with bronchopneumonia treated by methylprednisolone in combination with azithromycin.

Methods: Eighty-three children with bronchopneumonia were randomly divided into a test group (TG) and a control group (CG). The TG was comprised of 40 children treated with methylprednisolone combined with azithromycin, whereas the CG was comprised of 43 patients who received methylprednisolone monotherapy.

In T1 gastric cancer (GC), lymph nodes metastasis (LNM) is considered as a significant prognostic predictor and closely associated with following therapeutic approaches as well as distant metastasis (DM). This study aimed to not only seek risk factors of LNM and DM but also unpack the prognosis in T1 GC patients. We performed a retrospective study enrolling 5547 patients in T1 GC from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database.

eIF5A2 regulates the resistance of gastric cancer cells to cisplatin via induction of EMT.

Am J Transl Res

December 2018

Key Laboratory of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for Diagnosis and Treatment of Digestive System Tumor Hangzhou, Zhejiang, P.R. China.

Cisplatin is the first-line chemotherapy drug for gastric cancer (GC), but treatment failure often occurs due to development of resistance. The mechanism of cisplatin resistance remains a mystery. Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5A2 (eIF5A2) is an important tumor-promoting factor and has been rarely studied in GC.

Neuropathic pain is caused by lesion or inflammation of the nervous system and characterized by the symptoms of allodynia, hyperalgesia and spontaneous pain. SIRT1 (Sir2) is a NAD-dependent deacetylase and is reported to regulate a wide variety of cellular processes including inflammation, aging and lifespan extension. Nevertheless, the role of SIRT1 in neuropathic pain is not fully understood.
