Purpose: Intermittent hypoxia (IH), a defining feature of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), is associated with heart damage and linked to transient receptor potential canonical channel 5 (TRPC5). Nonetheless, the function of TRPC5 in OSA-induced cardiac injury remains uncertain. For this research, we aimed to explore the role and potential mechanism of TRPC5 in cardiomyocyte injury induced by intermittent hypoxia.

Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a devastating disease observed in premature infants, characterized by intestinal ischemia and inflammation. Hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α), a master regulator of the cellular response to hypoxia and ischemia, plays a critical role in NEC pathogenesis. However, the precise mechanisms by which HIF-1α influences the intestines in NEC remain poorly understood.

A single Raman spectrum reflects limited molecular information. Effective fusion of the Raman spectra of serum and urine source domains helps to obtain richer feature information. However, most of the current studies on immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) based on Raman spectroscopy are based on small sample data and low signal-to-noise ratio.

Objective: To explore the protective effect and mechanism of acetate on sepsis-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) in rats.
Methods: Male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were divided into sham operation group (Sham group), sepsis group caused by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP group), and acetate pretreatment group [NaA group, gavage sodium acetate (NaA) 300 mg/kg twice a day for 7 consecutive days before CLP] using a random number table method, with 7 rats in each group. The blood was taken from the main abdominal artery 24 hours after modeling, and renal tissue was collected from the rats.

Background: Insulin resistance (IR) is involved in the pathogenesis and progression of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and coronary heart disease (CHD). The triglyceride glucose(TyG) index, an alternative indicator of IR with high reliability, is linked to CHD development and severity. However, the association of TyG index with CHD in OSA cases remains undefined.

Aims: This study aimed to explore the correlation between radiomics features of pericoronary adipose tissue (PCAT) and gene expression in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), with the goal of identifying novel imaging biomarkers for evaluating CAD.
Methods: Between November 2021 and May 2022, data were collected from 60 patients diagnosed with CAD who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA). Samples of PCAT, three additional adipose tissue types, and peripheral venous blood were analysed.
Heatstroke (HS) is a severe systemic condition that significantly impacts organ function, with the liver being particularly vulnerable. Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1), a crucial deacetylase, is implicated in various diseases' pathophysiology. Curcumin, a natural polyphenol, has been shown to modulate SIRT1 activity, offering therapeutic benefits.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate whether academic burnout alleviates or exacerbates internet dependence among college students with depression and anxiety. Moreover, it intends to construct a moderated mediation model to examine how academic burnout moderates the relationship between depressive and anxious emotions and internet addiction and how social support mediates this relationship to determine the psychological motivations underlying addiction.
Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted using the simple random sampling method, which yielded 757 valid responses (response rate: a 93.

Background: Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) is particularly challenging to treat due to the T315I BCR::ABL1 mutation. Although fungal metabolites are known for their pharmaceutical potential, none are approved for CML. Our study screened approximately 2000 fungal secondary metabolites to discover inhibitors targeting the T315I- BCR::ABL1 mutant protein.

Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is characterized by a reduction in platelet counts, stemming from an autoimmune-mediated process where platelets are excessively cleared by macrophages. This enhanced phagocytosis is a cardinal pathogenic mechanism in ITP. Antigen B (AgB), a principal component of the Echinococcus granulosus cyst fluid, plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the parasite from host immune defenses by modulating macrophage activation.

Background: Minimally invasive surgeries are increasingly central to modern medicine, particularly in liver transplantation. These techniques, which offer reduced trauma, precise operations, minimal bleeding, and swift recovery, are, however, unevenly adopted across China. Only a limited number of centers routinely perform minimally invasive donor hepatectomies, indicating a significant imbalance in the development and application of these advanced procedures.

Background: Breast cancer (BC) is the prevailing malignant tumor, with its prevalence and death rate steadily rising over time. BC often does not show obvious symptoms in its early stages and is difficult to distinguish from benign breast disease. We aimed to find a distinct group of miRNAs utilizing serum as a non-invasive biomarker for early BC diagnosis.

Beta1-adrenergic receptor autoantibodies (β1-AAbs) promote atrial remodelling and ultimately lead to the development of atrial fibrillation (AF). Oroxin B is a natural flavonoid glycoside with a variety of biological activities, including anti-inflammatory and autophagy-promoting effects, and has therapeutic benefits for a variety of diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential therapeutic role of Oroxin B in the development of β1-AAb-induced atrial fibrillation and to elucidate the underlying mechanisms involved.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic and refractory inflammatory disease of the colon and rectum. This study utilized bioinformatics methods to explore the potential of Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) metabolism-related genes (NMRGs) as key genes in UC. Using the GSE87466 dataset, differentially expressed NMRGs were identified through differential expression analysis, weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), and NMRG scoring.

Predicting tumor biomarkers with high precision is essential for improving the diagnostic accuracy and developing more effective treatment strategies. This paper proposes a machine learning model that utilizes CT images and biopsy whole slide images (WSI) to classify mesothelin expression levels in pancreatic cancer. By combining multimodal learning and stochastic configuration networks, a radiopathomics mesothelin-prediction system named RPMSNet is developed.
