Background: The mechanism of ferroptosis is primarily driven by the iron-dependent lethal accumulation of membrane lipid peroxidation. Bavachin has been found to exacerbate lipid peroxidation in cancer cells; however, whether it hinders hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression by way of ferroptosis remains unknown.
Methods: Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay was used to measure the effect of Bavachin on the viability of HCC cells, so as to determine the appropriate drug concentration for subsequent experiments.

Background: Differences between virtual bronchoscopic navigation (VBN) systems and their impacts on the diagnostic yield of transbronchial biopsy (TBB) of peripheral pulmonary nodules (PPNs) remain unclear.
Objectives: To compare the Synapse 3D system (Version 4.4, Fujifilm, Japan) and DirectPath system (Version 2.
Objectives: Lymphocyte activation gene 3 (LAG3), an inhibitory receptor in T-cell activation, is a negative prognostic factor. However, its impact on tumours has yet to be comprehensively elucidated on a pan-cancer scale. Thus, we aim to reveal its role at the pan-cancer level.

Background: The limited understanding of the physiology and psychology of polar expedition explorers has prompted concern over the potential cognitive impairments caused by exposure to extreme environmental conditions. Prior research has demonstrated that such stressors can negatively impact cognitive function, sleep quality, and behavioral outcomes. Nevertheless, the impact of the polar environment on neuronal activity remains largely unknown.

Melanoma is the most aggressive type of skin cancer and has a high mortality rate once metastasis occurs. Hypoxia is a universal characteristic of the microenvironment of cancer and a driver of melanoma progression. In recent years, long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have attracted widespread attention in oncology research.

Background: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) originates from renal tubular epithelial cells and is mainly classified into three histological types, including clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) which accounts for about 75% of all kidney cancers and is characterized by its strong invasiveness and poor prognosis. Hence, it is imperative to understand the mechanisms underlying the occurrence and progression of ccRCC to identify effective biomarkers for the early diagnosis and the prognosis prediction.
Methods: The mRNA level of TTC13 was quantified by RT-PCR, while the protein level was determined by western blot and immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining.

Background: The prognostic assessment and therapeutic interventions of esophageal cancer (ESCA) require novel molecular targets. The prognostic value of necroptosis, a specific mode of programmed cell death strongly linked to cancer progression, remains largely unexplored in ESCA. The primary goal of this research is to develop a necroptosis-based prognostic signature, which will represent the microenvironmental characteristics and prognosis of individuals diagnosed with ESCA.

Objective: To review the research progress of meniscus repair in recent years, in order to provide help for the clinical decision-making of meniscus injury treatment.
Methods: The domestic and foreign literature related to meniscal repair in recent years was extensively reviewed to summarize the reasons for the prevalence of meniscal repair, surgical indications, various repair methods and long-term effectiveness, the need to deal with mechanical structural abnormalities, biological enhancement repair technology, rehabilitation treatment, and so on.
Results: In order to delay the occurrence of osteoarthritis, the best treatment of meniscus has undergone an important change from partial meniscectomy to meniscal repair, and the indications for meniscal repair have been expanding.
Objective: Retrospectively analyze and summarize the effect of Taichi-oriented exercise rehabilitation on cardiac function of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) after interventional therapy.
Methods: A retrospective study was performed on 59 patients with the first episode of AMI after interventional surgery who were admitted to the Department of Cardiology in the Shanghai Changzheng Hospital from July 2015 to June 2016. According to the different methods of exercise intervention, the patients were divided into the Taichi exercise group (n=30) and the routine exercise group (n=29).

Background: SMARCA4-deficient non-small cell lung cancer (SMARCA4-dNSCLC) is a rare primary lung malignancy. These diseases are not listed separately in the 2021 World Health Organization (WHO) classification of lung neoplasms, but they have special morphological, immunophenotypic and molecular genetic characteristics. This study aims to improve understanding of SMARCA4-dNSCLC by discussing the clinicopathological features, diagonosis and differential diagnosis of the disease.

Non-islet cell tumor hypoglycemia (NICTH) is an extremely uncommon and serious complication of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Here, we reported a case of a 47-year-old male patient with moderate to poorly differentiated HCC complicated by hypoglycemia that worsened after transarterial chemoembolization (TACE). The patient was admitted into The First Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University due to fatigue, nausea, dizziness and passage of tea colored urine.
