Objective: To compare the perioperative analgesic effect and safety of ultrasound-guided external oblique intercostal (EOI) block versus oblique subcostal transversus abdominis plane (OSTAP) block in patients receiving laparoscopic radical gastrectomy.

Methods: A prospective study was conducted on sixty patients who underwent laparoscopic radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer at the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from January 2022 to September 2022. Patients were divided into the EOI block group and the OSTAP block group according to the random number table, with 30 patients in each group.

Aims: To explore the effect of postoperative hydrocodone analgesia on inflammatory factors, NSE levels, and cognitive function in elderly patients undergoing hip arthroplasty.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on elderly patients undergoing hip arthroplasty from January 2020 to December 2023. Among them, 43 patients with postoperative hydrocodone analgesia were included in an observation group, and 57 patients without postoperative hydrocodone analgesia in a control group.

Methods: A total of 308 patients undergoing vocal cord polypectomy under suspension laryngoscopy in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University were included in this prospective study, and the patients were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group. Patients in the observation group received alfentanil combined with propofol, while those in the control group were anesthetized with sufentanil combined with propofol.

PD-1/L1 inhibitors can improve but not replace chemotherapy for advanced urothelial carcinoma: A systematic review and network meta-analysis.

Background: Programmed cell death-1/ligand 1 inhibitors are a new treatment strategy for advanced urothelial carcinoma. Therefore, a comparative evaluation of their efficacy and toxicity compared with chemotherapy is necessary.

Methods: We comprehensively searched PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases and performed a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials up to July 2021.

Programed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) inhibitor, apatinib, and chemotherapy show synergistic antitumor effect in gastric cancer. This study aimed to evaluate this combination as a neoadjuvant therapy in locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC). In this retrospective study, data from 179 LAGC patients who underwent neoadjuvant therapy with a PD-1 inhibitor plus apatinib and chemotherapy (PAC group, n=56), apatinib and chemotherapy (AC group, n=50), or chemotherapy alone (C group, n=73) were analyzed.

Objective: To investigate the relationship between PD-L1, Ki-67 and the association between PD-L1, Ki-67, and clinicopathologic features and laboratory parameters in the peripheral blood of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.

Methods: The clinical records of 213 NSCLC patients were retrospectively reviewed. The patients were divided into high or low expression groups by cut-off values of Ki-67 and PD-L1.

Objective: To investigate the efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided percutaneous intracystic deroofing for the treatment of simple renal cysts.

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted to analyze the clinical data of 46 patients with dorsal exophytic simple renal cysts treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University between February 2017 and June 2022. The patients were divided into two groups according to the surgical method, with 20 cases undergoing ultrasound-guided percutaneous intracystic deroofing being assigned to the observation group and 26 cases treated by retroperitoneal laparoscopic renal cyst removal included in the control group.

Development and validation of a prognostic model incorporating tumor thrombus grading for nonmetastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma with tumor thrombus: A multicohort study.

There is significant variability with respect to the prognosis of nonmetastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) patients with venous tumor thrombus (VTT). By applying multiregion whole-exome sequencing on normal-tumor-thrombus-metastasis quadruples from 33 ccRCC patients, we showed that metastases were mainly seeded by VTT (81.8%) rather than primary tumors (PTs).

Risk factors for postoperative pulmonary infection in patients with non-small cell lung cancer: analysis based on regression models and construction of a nomogram prediction model.

Objective: This study was designed to analyze risk factors for postoperative pulmonary infection (PPI) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) based on regression models and to construct a corresponding nomogram prediction model.

Methods: A total of 244 patients with NSCLC who received surgical treatment from June 2015 to January 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the PPI, they were assigned to a pulmonary infection group (n=27) or non-pulmonary infection group (n=217).

Background Chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) has been regarded as an important cause of atherosclerotic disease. In our study, we set out to investigate whether CIH regulated the high mobility group box 1/receptor for advanced glycation endproducts/NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3 (HMGB1/RAGE/NLRP3) axis to affect the progression of atherosclerosis. Methods and Results Initially, peripheral blood samples were collected from patients with single obstructive sleep apnea, atherosclerosis complicated with obstructive sleep apnea, and healthy volunteers.

[Mechanism of Shenling Baizhu Powder on treatment of ulcerative colitis based on NLRP3 inflammatory].

This study deciphered the mechanism of Shenling Baizhu Powder in treatment of mouse model of ulcerative colitis(UC) via NOD-like receptor thermoprotein domain 3(NLRP3) signaling pathway. After three days of adaptive feeding, 70 SPF-grade BALB/c mice were randomized into 7 groups: normal group, model group(dextran sodium sulfate, DSS), mesalazine group(DSS + 5-aminosalicylic acid, 5-ASA), NLRP3 inhibitor group(DSS + MCC950), and high-, medium-, and low-dose Shenling Baizhu Powder groups(DSS + high-, medium-, and low-dose Shenling Baizhu Powder), with 10 mice per group. The normal group had free access to double distilled water, and the remaining groups had free access to DSS-containing water to establish the acute UC model.

Objectives: To analyze the clinical features, imaging findings, and surgical results of 51 cases of adrenal ganglioneuroma (AGN) in our center to provide a clinical reference for its diagnosis and treatment.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical data of 51 AGN patients admitted to our hospital. We summarized the clinical and imaging characteristics and analyzed the effects of different surgical methods and tumor size on the perioperative outcome.

Objectives: To analyze the development status, research hotspots, research frontiers and future development trends of the Notch signaling pathway in cancer through bibliometric analysis.

Methods: Publications related to the Notch signaling pathway in cancer were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC), and information was extracted from the articles using Microsoft Excel 2020, CiteSpace V and VOSviewer software for visual analysis.

Results: The country and institution with the most publications are the USA and Harvard University, respectively.

This research aimed to explore the repair effects of intracranial injection of neonatal microglia or protease-treated adult microglia on TBI in rat model. Lateral fluid percussion injury was used to establish rat brain injury model.

Objective: To investigate the effect of high-quality nursing on psychological status and prognosis of patients undergoing brain tumor surgery.

Methods: One hundred and ten patients undergoing brain tumor surgery were divided into control group (n=55, receiving routine nursing) and observation group (n=55, receiving high-quality nursing). The psychological status (Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAMA) and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD)), quality of life (Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74 Scale (GQOLI-74)), prognosis (Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS)), self-efficacy (Strategies Used by People to Promote Health Scale (SUPPH)) and complications of patients in both groups were recorded and compared.
