Background: As the population in China rapidly ages, the prevalence of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is increasing considerably. However, the causes of MCI vary. The continued lack of understanding of the various subtypes of MCI impedes the implementation of effective measures to reduce the risk of advancing to more severe cognitive diseases.

Analysis of the therapeutic efficacy of OLIF combined with posterior percutaneous pedicle screw fixation in the treatment of patients with primary lumbar spondylodiscitis.

Introduction: Primary lumbar spondylodiscitis is a serious condition with an increasing incidence rate.

Methods: From January 2021 to June 2023, we adopted a single-stage oblique lateral approach for the debridement of lumbar infection foci, intervertebral bone grafting fusion, tube irrigation drainage, combined with posterior percutaneous pedicle screw fixation for the treatment of primary lumbar spondylodiscitis.

Results: We found that this surgical technique significantly improved the patients' lower back pain symptoms.

Efficacy and safety of cadonilimab (PD-1/CTLA-4 bispecific) in combination with chemotherapy in anti-PD-1-resistant recurrent or metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma: a single-arm, open-label, phase 2 trial.

Background: We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of cadonilimab (anti-PD-1 and CTLA-4 bispecific antibody) plus TPC chemotherapy (NAB-paclitaxel, cisplatin or lobaplatin, and capecitabine) in patients with recurrent or metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (RM-NPC) who failed to PD-1 inhibitor-containing regimens.

Methods: In this single-arm, open-label, phase 2 study, RM-NPC patients who failed to at least one line of systemic chemotherapy and anti-PD-1 immunotherapy were enrolled and received cadonilimab plus TPC chemotherapy every 3 weeks for up to 6 cycles, followed by cadonilimab plus capecitabine every 3 weeks for a maximum of 2 years. The primary endpoint was the objective response rate (ORR).

Background: Although the 2021 Chinese Clinical Practice Guidelines for Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) provide recommendations for ERAS in gastrointestinal surgery, the clinical application of standard ERAS nursing models is challenging due to the variety of diseases involved in gastrointestinal surgery and the complex factors contributing to patient stress responses. Efficacy and safety of disitamab vedotin in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors in patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma.

Introduction: Disitamab Vedotin (DV, RC48, or RC48-ADC) is a novel humanized antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), which is based on human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 antibody (anti-HER2, or hertuzumab) coupled with monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE). This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of RC48-ADC in combination with programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors for treatment of locally advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma (la/mUC) patients.

Patients And Methods: This is a retrospective and real-world investigation originated from an enrollment of locally advanced or mUC patients underwent treatments with RC48-ADC in combination with PD-1 inhibitors in two hospitals, between August 2022 and July 2024.

In this study, the gastrointestinal tolerance and adhesion properties of three anti-allergic Lactobacillus strains were evaluated in vitro. Subsequently, five oligosaccharides were incubated with each selected Lactobacillus strain to determine which combination could significantly promote Lactobacillus proliferation.

Effectiveness of acupoint injection combined with specific electromagnetic spectrum irradiation and acupuncture on peripheral facial paralysis.

Objective: To investigate the clinical effectiveness of acupoint injection in the treatment of acute phase of peripheral facial paralysis (PFP).

Methods: A total of 85 patients with PFP were randomly divided into the control group, which was treated by prednisone acetate; the thermal design power (TDP) group, which was treated with acupuncture plus specific electromagnetic spectrum irradiation; and the acupoint injection group, which was treated with acupuncture plus specific electromagnetic spectrum irradiation combined with vitamin B1 (Vit B1) and vitamin B12 (Vit B12) acupoint injection. The treatment effectiveness was evaluated by Portmann score of facial paralysis, House-Brackmann (H-B) facial nerve function grading, serum levels of IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-α, the cure time, and total effective rate.

Method: Using CiteSpace and VOSviewer software with the Web of Science Core Collection database as the data source, a bibliometric analysis was conducted on relevant studies of contrast agent extravasation in medical imaging examinations. Analysis was performed on aspects such as yearly publication volume, country/institution distribution, authorship, co-citation documents, and keywords, leading to the creation of visualizations.

In patients with gastric cancer (GC), metastatic progression through the lymphatic, haematogenous, peritoneal, and ovarian routes is the ultimate cause of death. We developed a nomogram to estimate cancer-specific survival (CSS) in patients with T1 gastric cancer based on log odds of positive lymph nodes (LODDS). A total of 2,221 patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database were split into training and internal validation cohorts, while an external validation cohort included 165 patients from our hospital.

Chinese Position Paper on Biologic Therapy for Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps.

Emerging biologics that selectively target key cytokines present a promising therapeutic alternative for patients suffering from severe, uncontrollable chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). Despite the limited availability of registered biologics for CRSwNP treatment in China, the country is experiencing rapid development in this field. It is imperative to standardize the application of biologic agents in CRSwNP management in preparation for their future integration into the CRSwNP care pathway.
