Profiles of Cough and Associated Risk Factors in Nonhospitalized Individuals With SARS-CoV-2 Omicron Variant Infection: Cross-Sectional Online Survey in China.

Background: Cough is a common symptom during and after COVID-19 infection; however, few studies have described the cough profiles of COVID-19.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence, severity, and associated risk factors of severe and persistent cough in individuals with COVID-19 during the latest wave of the Omicron variant in China.

Methods: In this nationwide cross-sectional study, we collected information of the characteristics of cough from individuals with infection of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant using an online questionnaire sent between December 31, 2022, and January 11, 2023.

Effect of Helicobacter pylori eradication on gastric precancerous lesions: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: The question of whether eradication of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) can reverse gastric precancerous lesions, including intestinal metaplasia, remains uncertain, leading to ongoing debate. Therefore, a meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the effect of Hp eradication on gastric precancerous lesions.

Helicobacter pylori infection and PD-L1 expression in gastric cancer: A meta-analysis.

Background: High expression of programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) has been related to good response to immunotherapy patients with gastric cancer (GC). However, the influence of Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection on PD-L1 expression in GC remains unknown. A meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the association between HP infection and PD-L1 expression in GC.

The aim of this study was to determine whether transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS)- and transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided aspiration biopsy allows detection of a malignant pathology of pelvic/pelvic masses. Data of 40 patients with pelvic and pelvic mass lesions by computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging underwent TVUS- or TRUS-guided biopsy.

A number of studies investigated the distribution of BMD values and the prevalence of osteoporosis in China, but their findings varied. Until now, a BMD reference database based on uniform measurements in a large-scale Chinese population has been lacking. A total of 75,321 Chinese adults aged 20 years and older were recruited from seven centers between 2008 and 2018.

Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted. 133 patients in conscious and normal intelligence admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) of Hefei Second People's Hospital from January 2015 to June 2018 were enrolled.

[Application of MDCT and post-processing in children with tracheal foreign body].

To explore the clinical value of MDCT and post-processing in children with suspected foreign body in trachea.Two hundred patients with suspected tracheal foreign body were treated with 64-slice spiral CT (MDCT) and simulated endoscopic imaging,then compared with seen in bronchoscopy; Compare the results of MDCT and post-processing with the coincidence of intraoperative findings.One hundred and eighty-four cases of positive children were examined by MDCT postprocessing technique and bronchoscopy,179 cases were obstructed by exogenous foreign body,5 cases were phlegm thrombosis (endogenous foreign body) obstruction; 16 cases of children with no foreign body diagnosed by MDCT post-processing technique were also examined by bronchoscopy.

Osthole induces apoptosis and suppresses proliferation via the PI3K/Akt pathway in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.

Osthole is a natural coumarin isolated from Umbelliferae plant monomers. Previous research has indicated that osthole exerts a wide variety of biological effects, acting as anti-seizure, anti-osteoporosis and anti-inflammation. However, the regulatory effect and related molecular mechanism of osthole in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) remain unknown.

[Effects of different sedation regimens on sedation and inflammatory response in critically ill children with multiple trauma].

Objective: To compare the sedation and anti-inflammatory effects of dexmedetomidine and midazolam on critical ill children with multiple trauma.

Methods: A prospective randomized controlled trial was conducted. Sixty-five critical ill children with multiple trauma admitted to pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) of Anhui Province Children's Hospital from January 2014 to September 2016 were enrolled, who were randomly divided into dexmedetomidine group (33 cases) and midazolam group (32 cases).

The survival rate and larynx preservation in elderly cancer patients who received surgical operation: A retrospective cohort study.

Background: To investigate the efficiency of surgical operation for patients over 70 years with hypopharyngeal cancer.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis of the medical records from 68 patients over 70 years-old with hypopharyngeal cancer who underwent different therapeutic regimen between 2000 and 2009 was conducted. 36 of 68 patients underwent larynx preservation.

Modulatory role of garlicin in migration and invasion of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma via PI3K/AKT pathway.

Increasing evidences have indicated the role of garlicin in inhibiting the progression of various tumors including glioma, pulmonary carcinoma and pancreatic carcinoma, via mediating cell apoptosis or cell cycle. The regulatory effect and related molecular mechanism of garlicin in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, however, remained unknown. This study thus aimed to investigate this scientific issue.

Cytotoxic bibenzyl dimers from the stems of Dendrobium fimbriatum Hook.

The bioassay-guided chemical investigation of the stems of Dendrobium fimbriatum Hook led to the isolation of seven first reported bibenzyl dimers with a linkage of a methylene moiety, fimbriadimerbibenzyls A-G (1-7), together with a new dihydrophenanthrene derivative (S)-2,4,5,9-tetrahydroxy-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene (8) and thirteen known compounds (9-21). The structure of the new compound was established by spectroscopic analysis. Biological evaluation of bibenzyl derivatives against five human cell lines indicated that seven of those compounds exhibited broad-spectrum and cytotoxic activities with IC50 values ranging from 2.

Effects of dexmedetomidine on outcomes following craniocerebral operation - a meta-analysis.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of dexmedetomidine on outcomes following craniocerebral operation and provide evidence for individualized medication.

Methods: We searched the Cochrane Library, PubMed, Springer, CNKI, Wanfang Data Resource and other Chinese and foreign databases with electronic retrieval, within the period 1990-2013, for records relating to dexmedetomidine, brain pharmacokinetics and clinical randomized controlled studies. Records were assessed using the Cochrane system evaluation method for assessing the quality of research, using Revman 5.

Effects of praeruptorin C on blood pressure and expression of phospholamban in spontaneously hypertensive rats.

Background: The traditional Chinese medicine Praeruptorin c (Pra-c) has many physiological and pharmacological effects, including antagonistic effects on blood pressure and calcium levels, maintenance of cellular calcium homeostasis, and improved cardiac systolic and diastolic function. It is potentially a novel and versatile drug for the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

Objective: To explore the possible impact of Pra-c on blood pressure in SHR and its mechanism of action.
