Objective: To investigate the effect of penehyclidine hydrochloride on glutamate (Glu)release and N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR)1 expression in hippocampus CA1 with global cerebral ischemia/reperfusion rats.

Methods: Sixty male Wistar rats were randomly allocated into three groups; group A received sham operation; group B received ischemia/reperfusion; group C received penehyclidine hydrochloride treatment (2 mg/kg) before ischemia/reperfusion (n=20). Global cerebral ischemia was induced according to Pulsinelli-Brierley method.

Cerebellar dysfunction may play an important role in vascular dementia.

The cerebellum has traditionally been seen as a brain area limited to the coordination of voluntary movement, gait, posture, speech, and motor functions. There are increasing evidence, however, proving that the cerebellum is implicated in processes associated with the control of cognition, behavior, and psychiatric illness. Furthermore, the fact that the cerebellum is reciprocally connected to a broad range of limbic structures including the amygdale and hippocampus, as well as the cerebral cortex including the prefrontal areas, provides a strong neuroanatomical argument in favor of cerebellar involvement in cognition regulation.

Objective: To study the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and microvessel density (MVD), in nasal polyps and its significance.

Method: The expression of VEGF, in nasal polyps from 50 patients and inferior turbinates from 10 patients were studied with immunohistochemical methods, measuring their grey score, the relations between expression microvessel density were analyzed.

Result: (1) The differences between the VEGF expression in nasal polyp gland and vascular were significant (P < 0.

Objective: The efficiency of antitumor immunity induced by dendritic cells (DCs) transfected with total RNA of laryngeal carcinoma cells was explored.

Method: DCs, induced from human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, were transfected with total RNA of laryngeal carcinoma cells. The specific antitumor immunity of cytotoxic T Lymphocytes (CTLs) that were actived by RNA-transfected DCs were detected by MTT methods in vitro.

Purpose: Steroid-induced glaucoma in rabbit ocular was established to observe the ultrastructural changes in trabecular meshwork, and to preliminarily study the mechanisms of increased resistance of aqueous outflow in steroid-induced glaucoma.

Methods: Forty New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into four groups, namely, control group (n = 10 rats),drops drug group(n = 10 rats), Injecting drug group(n = 10 rats) and drug combination group (n=10 rats). For three consecutive days before the experiment, using the Schitoz's tonometer to measure intraocular pressure(IOP) at 8am, 10am, and 12am each day, obtained the average, and finally calculated basis IOP of these rabbits.
