Dendritic cells (DCs) play a crucial role in bridging innate and adaptive immune responses. They are widely distributed in various tissues and organs, including the eyes. In the ocular context, permanent DCs are present at the peripheral edge of the retina and the peripapillary area in an immature state.

Over the past decade, research on the human microbiota has become a hot topic. Among them, the female reproductive tract (FRT) also has a specific microbiota that maintains the body's health and dynamic balance, especially in the reproductive aspect. When the FRT ecosystem is dysregulated, changes in immune and metabolic signals can lead to pathological and physiological changes such as chronic inflammation, epithelial barrier disruption, changes in cell proliferation and apoptosis, and dysregulation of angiogenesis and metabolism, thereby causing disruption of the female endocrine system.

Aim: Hypothermia is one of the common complications of cesarean section, which has a serious impact on intraoperative surgical safety and postoperative recovery of pregnant women. Mitigation of the risk factors of hypothermia in pregnant women undergoing cesarean section may reduce the probability of its occurrence and improve the perioperative comfort of pregnant women. Therefore, this study systematically evaluates the influencing factors of hypothermia in patients undergoing cesarean section, aiming to provide references for the prevention of hypothermia in pregnant women undergoing cesarean section.

DNA walkers have emerged as a powerful tool in various biosensors, enabling the detection of low-abundance analytes with their precise programmability and efficient signal amplification capacity. However, many existing approaches are hampered by limited reaction kinetics. Herein, we designed a stochastic bipedal dual-DNA walkers (SBDW) that can traverse at high speed on AuNP-based three-dimensional (3D) tracks powered by Exo III.

Idiopathic orbital inflammation, formerly known as NSOI (nonspecific orbital inflammation), is characterized as a spectrum disorder distinguished by the polymorphic infiltration of lymphoid tissue, presenting a complex and poorly understood etiology. Recent advancements have shed light on the HLF (Human lactoferrin), proposing its critical involvement in the regulation of hematopoiesis and the maintenance of innate mucosal immunity. This revelation has generated significant interest in exploring HLF's utility as a biomarker for NSOI, despite the existing gaps in our understanding of its biosynthetic pathways and operational mechanisms.

Consequently, the interplay between sex steroids - a pivotal constituent of hormones - and colorectal cancer has increasingly captivated scientific interest. Upon a comprehensive review of pertinent literature both domestically and internationally, this study delineates the present landscape of three pivotal steroids - estrogen, progestin, and androgen - in the context of colorectal cancer.

Background: Non-specific Orbital Inflammation (NSOI) is a chronic idiopathic condition marked by extensive polymorphic lymphoid infiltration in the orbital area. The integration of metabolic and immune pathways suggests potential therapeutic roles for C-peptide and G protein-coupled receptor 146 (GPR146) in diabetes and its sequelae. However, the specific mechanisms through which GPR146 modulates immune responses remain poorly understood.

Background: Nonspecific Orbital Inflammation (NSOI) represents a persistent and idiopathic proliferative inflammatory disorder, characterized by polymorphous lymphoid infiltration within the orbit. The transcription factor Interferon Regulatory Factor 8 (IRF8), integral to the IRF protein family, was initially identified as a pivotal element for the commitment and differentiation of myeloid cell lineage. Serving as a central regulator of innate immune receptor signaling, IRF8 orchestrates a myriad of functions in hematopoietic cell development.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary liver cancer worldwide. Cancer cells' local infiltration, proliferation, and spread are mainly influenced by the protein hydrolyzing function of different matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). However, no study has determined the relationship between MMPs and prognostic prediction in HCC.

This condition, marked by the aberrant metabolic activities of its cellular constituents, starkly contrasts with the metabolic equilibrium found in healthy cells. Among the myriad pathways integral to cellular metabolism, purine metabolism emerges as a critical player, providing the building blocks for nucleic acid synthesis, such as DNA and RNA.

Ischemic stroke is a leading cause of disability and death worldwide. However, the clinical efficacy of recanalization therapy as a preferred option is significantly hindered by reperfusion injury. The transformation between different phenotypes of gliocytes is closely associated with cerebral ischemia/ reperfusion injury (CI/RI).

Background: Nonspecific orbital inflammation (NSOI) is an idiopathic, persistent, and proliferative inflammatory condition affecting the orbit, characterized by polymorphous lymphoid infiltration. Its pathogenesis and progression have been linked to imbalances in tumor metabolic pathways, with glutamine (Gln) metabolism emerging as a critical aspect in cancer. Metabolic reprogramming is known to influence clinical outcomes in various malignancies.

Thyroid eye disease (TED), an autoimmune inflammatory disorder affecting the orbit, exhibits a range of clinical manifestations. While the disease presentation can vary, cases that adhere to a prototypical pattern typically commence with mild symptoms that subsequently escalate in severity before entering a phase of stabilization. Notably, the metabolic activity of cells implicated in the disease substantially deviates from that of healthy cells, with purine metabolism representing a critical facet of cellular material metabolism by supplying components essential for DNA and RNA synthesis.

Objective: To explore the mechanism of psoralen synergized with exosomes (exos)-loaded SPC25 on nucleus pulposus (NP) cell senescence in intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD).
Methods: IVDD cellular models were established on NP cells by tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) induction, followed by the treatment of psoralen or/and exos from adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) transfected with SPC25 overexpression vector (ADSCs-oe-SPC25-Exos). The viability, cell cycle, apoptosis, and senescence of NP cells were examined, accompanied by the expression measurement of aggrecan, COL2A1, Bcl-2, Bax, CDK2, p16, and p21.

Background: There is a growing body of evidence that suggests a connection between the composition of gut microbiota and sepsis. However, more research is needed to better understand the causal relationship between the two. To gain a deeper insight into the association between gut microbiota, C-reactive protein (CRP), and sepsis, we conducted several Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses.
