The accurate diagnosis of HFpEF is still challenging and controversial. In this study, we used 3D-DHM technology to compare the differences of cardiac structure and function between HFpEF patients and healthy controls, as well as the differences of two-dimensional and three-dimensional cardiac function in HFpEF patients. Echocardiography with 3D-DHM and conventional two-dimensional (2D) methods were applied to measure the volume and function parameters of left atrium and ventricle of patients with HFpEF and healthy controls.

Background: The surgical treatment of accessory navicular (AN) is divided into simple resection of AN and Kidner surgery used to reconstruct posterior tibial tendon (PTT) after AN resection. However, both of these procedures have certain disadvantages. Herein, we proposed a modified method to reconstruct PTT and compared the short-term clinical effect of our method with the modified Kidner procedure.

Background: Recent studies have reported better predictive performance of triglyceride glucose (TyG) index for cardiovascular events in women, however, whether this association persists in postmenopausal women is inconclusive. We investigated the association between TyG index and H-type hypertension (HHT) in postmenopausal women.

Methods: 1,301 eligible women with hypertension were included in this cross-sectional study.

Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is one of the serious adverse drug reactions (ADRs), which belongs to immune-mediated adverse drug reactions (IM-ADRs). As an essential health drug, albendazole has rarely been reported to cause serious liver damage. A young man in his 30 s developed severe jaundice, abnormal transaminases, and poor blood coagulation mechanism after taking albendazole, and eventually developed into severe liver failure.

Medial epicondyle fractures a prevalent injury, constituting 11% to 20% of all elbow fractures in children and adolescents. Common fixation strategies for displaced medial epicondylar fractures involve the use of K-wires and Lag-Screw fixation. The aim of this retrospective study was to compare 2 methods for treating medial epicondylar fractures in children.

Background: High rate of tumor recurrence jeopardized the long-term survival of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with complete response to transarterial chemoembolization (TACE). This study aims to evaluate the survival benefit of liver resection (LR) following the complete response to TACE for intermediate-stage HCC.

Methods: A total of 281 intermediate-stage HCC patients with complete response to TACE followed by persistent observation (TACE group) or LR (TLR group) from 01 January 2011 to 31 December 2021 from three institutions in China were included.

Fatty acid metabolism (FAM) is associated with prognosis and immune microenvironment remodeling in many tumors. It is currently unknown how FAM affects the immunological microenvironment and prognosis of Gastric cancer (GC). Therefore, the current work aims to categorize GC samples based on the expression status of genes involved in FAM and to identify populations that might benefit from immunotherapy.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common degenerative joint disease and is closely associated with chronic, low-grade inflammation. Regulating ferroptosis by targeting ferroptosis-related genes may be a fast and effective way to delay the degeneration of OA. However, the molecular mechanisms and gene targets related to ferroptosis in OA are still unclear.

The protein Dynein‑related protein 1 (Drp1) plays a crucial role in regulating the process of mitochondrial fission, which is known to be associated with the onset and progression of various human diseases. However, the specific impact of Drp1 on bladder cancer has yet to be fully understood. In previous studies, evidence to support the theory that the deubiquitinating enzyme proteasome non‑ATPase regulatory subunit 14 (PSMD14) is responsible for stabilizing and promoting the activity of Drp1, ultimately resulting in increased mitochondrial fission, has been presented.

Objective: This study aimed to estimate whether the potential short-term advantages of laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD) could allow patients to recover in a more timely manner and achieve better long-term survival than with open pancreaticoduodenectomy (OPD) in patients with pancreatic or periampullary tumors.

Background: LPD has been demonstrated to be feasible and may have several potential advantages over OPD in terms of shorter hospital stay and accelerated recovery than OPD.

Methods: This noninferiority, open-label, randomized clinical trial was conducted in 14 centers in China.
