To explore the relationship between miR-373 and the occurrence and development of colorectal cancer. Additionally, it aims to predict the potential cellular signaling pathways and regulatory mechanisms in which miR-373 may be involved and provides a theoretical basis and experimental evidence for the clinical application of miR-373 as a potential biomarker, molecular target, and prognostic indicator in colorectal cancer. Real-time quantitative PCR is used to analyze the expression of miR-373 in human colorectal cancer cell lines and normal human colonic epithelial cells.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is the most common cancer originating in the nasopharynx. Despite continuous improvement in treatment strategies, recurrence or persistence of cancer after radiotherapy is still inevitable, highlighting the need to identify therapeutic resistance factors and develop effective methods for NPC treatment. Herein, we found that TRAF4 is overexpressed in NPC cells and tissues.

Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of asymmetric Z-plasty with central axis inward displacement and stallard Z-plasty in the correction of epicanthus.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 193 patients who underwent epicanthal plasty in the Department of Plastic and Laser Cosmetology of Hunan Provincial People's Hospital from 2009 to 2019. The patients were divided into two groups according to different surgical methods: group A (n = 125) received the asymmetric Z-plasty with central axis inward displacement method and group B (n = 68) received the stallard Z-plasty method.

Accessory navicular (AN) is a developmental variation of the secondary ossification center of the navicular tuberosity. Ten percent of patients with AN will have pain symptoms that affect walking and life. As the AN changes the position of the posterior tibial tendon insertion, children with AN often have posterior tibial tendon function insufficiency and flexible flat foot.

Objective: Papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) is one of the most serious diseases of the endocrine system. In view of the limited therapeutic effects of current medical methods, this study starts from the molecular level and looks for potential treatments. The interaction between HAGLROS/miR-206/HMGA2 was studied using multi-omics methods, which provided new ideas and methods for future treatments.

Background: Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is a chronic intrahepatic cholestatic autoimmune liver disease characterized by inflammatory injury of small and medium-sized bile ducts in the liver. The pathogenesis of PBC has yet to be entirely understood. CD47/signal-regulatory protein alpha (SIRPα) is closely related to developing autoimmune diseases by promoting inflammatory response.

Background: Cadonilimab is a bispecific antibody that simultaneously targets programmed cell death receptor-1 and cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen-4. This study aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of cadonilimab plus anlotinib for the first-line treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) without sensitizing EGFR/ALK/ROS1 mutations.
Methods: Patients received cadonilimab 15 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg every three weeks (Q3W) plus anlotinib at doses of 10 or 12 mg once daily for two weeks on a one-week-off schedule.

Porous frameworks that display dynamic responsiveness are of interest in the fields of smart materials, information technology, etc. In this work, a novel copper-based dynamic metal-organic framework [CuTTBPE(HO)] (HTTBPE = 1,1,2,2-tetrakis(4″-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-[1,1″-biphenyl]-4-yl)ethane), denoted as HNU-1, is reported which exhibits modulable photoelectromagnetic properties. Due to the synergetic effect of flexible tetraarylethylene-backboned ligands and diverse copper-tetrazole coordination chemistries, a complex 3D tunneling network is established in this MOF by the layer-by-layer staggered assembly of triplicate monolayers, showing a porosity of 59%.

Objective: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a highly prevalent neurological disorder that affects a gradually increasing proportion of older adults. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) significantly contributes to global years of life lost, with an estimated one-tenth of the global population affected by CKD. However, it remains unclear whether CKD impacts TBI prognosis.

Background: Peritoneal fibrosis (PF), a common complication of long-term peritoneal dialysis, accounts for peritoneal ultrafiltration failure to develop into increased mortality. Nintedanib has previously been shown to protect against multi-organ fibrosis, including PF. Unfortunately, the precise molecular mechanism underlying nintedanib in the pathogenesis of PF remains elusive.

Cognitive impairments, such as learning and memory deficits, may occur in susceptible populations including the elderly and patients who are chronically ill or have experienced stressful events, including surgery, infection, and trauma. Accumulating lines of evidence suggested that peripheral inflammation featured by the recruitment of peripheral immune cells and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines may be activated during aging and these conditions, participating in peripheral immune system-brain communication. Lots of progress has been achieved in deciphering the core bridging mechanism connecting peripheral inflammation and cognitive impairments, which may be helpful in developing early diagnosis, prognosis evaluation, and prevention methods based on peripheral blood circulation system sampling and intervention.

Background: Melanoma, a frequently encountered cutaneous malignancy characterized by a poor prognosis, persists in presenting formidable challenges despite the advancement in molecularly targeted drugs designed to improve survival rates significantly. Unfortunately, as more therapeutic choices have developed over time, the gradual emergence of drug resistance has become a notable impediment to the effectiveness of these therapeutic interventions. The hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)/c-met signaling pathway has attracted considerable attention, associated with drug resistance stemming from multiple potential mutations within the c-met gene.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a progressive disease which can cause health problem. It has been reported that bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs)-secreted exosomes could regulate the progression of DR via carrying microRNAs. Meanwhile, miR-483-5p was downregulated in DR; however, whether BMSCs-secreted exosomes can modulate DR progression via carrying miR-483-5p remains unclear.
