Effect of birth asphyxia on neonatal blood glucose during the early postnatal life: A multi-center study in Hubei Province, China.

Background: Birth asphyxia causes hypoxia or inadequate perfusion to the organs of newborns, leading to metabolism dysfunctions including blood glucose disorders.

Methods: Neonates with and without birth asphyxia were retrospectively recruited from 53 hospitals in Hubei Province from January 1 to December 31, 2018. In summary, 875, 1139, and 180 cases in the control group, the mild asphyxia group, and the severe asphyxia group were recruited, respectively.

Wound healing is a dynamic and highly sequential process involving a series of overlapping spatial and temporal phases, including hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and tissue remodeling. Background: Kawasaki disease (KD) is a systemic vasculitis of unknown etiology affecting mainly children. Studies have shown that the pathogenesis of KD may be related to autophagy. Using bioinformatics analysis, we assessed the significance of autophagy-related genes (ARGs) in KD.

Induction of apoptosis in glioma cells by lycorine via reactive oxygen species generation and regulation of NF-κB pathways.

Glioma is an extremely aggressive primary brain tumor, which is highly resistant to chemotherapy, presenting a therapeutic challenge. Here, we explored the anti-glioma effects and the underlying mechanism of lycorine, an isoquinoline alkaloid isolated from lycoris on glioma cells. We found that lycorine could dose dependently inhibit C6 glioma cell growth and induce cell apoptosis and intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) production.

Temperature sensitive nanogels for real-time imaging during transcatheter arterial embolization.

Several vascular embolization materials are commonly used in clinical practice, however, having application defects of varying degrees, such as poor intraoperative imaging and easy recanalization of embolized blood vessels, they are challenging for application during Transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE). Thus, an intraoperative visible vascular embolization material with good embolization effect and biocompatibility can improve transcatheter arterial embolization clinical efficacy to some extent. Our study aimed to synthesize a novel vascular embolization material that can achieve complete embolization of arterial trunks and peripheral vessels, namely poly (N-isopropyl acrylamide)--acrylic acid nanogel (NIPAM--AA).

Background: Circular RNA spi-1 proto-oncogene (circ-SPI1) regulates cell proliferation, apoptosis, and bone marrow differentiation in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). This study aimed to assess the relationship of circ-SPI1 expression with the clinical features, induction therapy response, and survival of AML patients.

Methods: In total, 80 AML patients were included with bone marrow (BM) samples collected at baseline and after induction therapy.

Intra-muscular extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma of the thigh: a case report.

Soft tissue sarcomas are mesenchymal tumors that account for about 1% of all malignancies. We retrospectively analyzed a rare case of a painful intra-muscular extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma in the thigh of a 35-year-old man, that had undergone excision. Histological and immunohistochemical analysis of the mass revealed extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma.

Interactions between ultrasonographic cervical length and placenta accreta spectrum on severe postpartum hemorrhage in women with placenta previa.

Objective: To explore the interactions between cervical length (CL) and placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) on severe postpartum hemorrhage (SPPH) in patients with placenta previa.

Methods: A retrospective case-control study was conducted at four medical centers in China, and 588 patients with placenta previa were included. The logistic regression analysis and restricted cubic splines (RCS) were used to evaluate the association between CL and SPPH.

Methods: A total of 68 cases of neonatal upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage in Huangshi Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from please mention dates October 2018 to February 2020 were selected and randomly divided into treatment group and control group by coin tossing, with 34 infants in each group. The control group received conventional therapy, and the treatment group was additionally treated with norepinephrine combined with cimetidine.

Methods: One hundred and twenty inpatients who needed PN and plasma transfusion in Xianning Central Hospital from September 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022, were enrolled as the actual application verification cases. All the patients in the group noticed the informed consent form, and the normal plasma transfusion was set as the control group ( = 40), and the fat plasma transfusion was set as the study group.

Distribution and Drug Resistance of Pathogenic Bacteria and Prognosis in Patients with Septicemia Bloodstream Infection with Renal Insufficiency.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the distribution and drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria and the prognosis of patients with sepsis bloodstream infection with renal insufficiency.

Methods: One hundred and twelve patients with septicemic bloodstream infection with renal insufficiency and 112 patients with septic bloodstream infection without renal insufficiency were selected as study group and control group, respectively. We compare the distribution of pathogenic bacteria, analyze the drug resistance of major bacteria, and compare the efficacy, the incidence of septic shock, duration of mechanical ventilation, hospitalization time, and duration of antimicrobial drug administration between the two groups.

Objective: To compare the effect of Direct Anterior Approach (DAA) and Orthopadisehe Chirurgie Munchen (OCM) in the prone position on early joint function after primary hip arthroplasty in young adults.

Methods: In this retrospective analysis, 85 patients who received primary hip arthroplasty between September 2018 and January 2020 were enrolled and divided into the OCM group (43 cases with OCM) and the DAA group (42 cases with DAA) according to the different surgical methods. The general operative conditions, postoperative conditions and imaging manifestations, postoperative pain, changes in WOMAC scale scores, and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.
