Analysis of high risk factors and characteristics of coronary artery in premenopausal women with coronary artery disease.

Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the high risk factors and coronary lesion features in premenopausal women with coronary artery disease (CAD) and provide guideline for diagnosis and therapy.

Methods: 114 premenopausal women and 134 postmenopausal women were conducted coronary angiography in our hospital from September, 2012 to September, 2014. According to the results of coronary angiography, premenopausal and postmenopausal women with coronary artery disease were divided into two groups respectively, including 48 premenopausal women with CAD group, 66 premenopausal women with normal coronary artery group, 76 postmenopausal women with CAD group and 58 postmenopausal women with normal coronary artery group.

Relationship between the total length of the stents and patients' quality of life after percutaneous coronary intervention.

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the total length of the stents and the postoperative life quality of patients with multi-vessel coronary artery disease who undergo percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Using the short-form health survey (SF-36) items, we analyzed the data on the postoperative life quality of 166 patients with multi-vessel coronary artery disease who underwent percutaneous transluminal coronary intervention in the Department of Cardiology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Science and Technology from September 2011 to September 2013. Follow-up was performed 6 months later.

Neurofibroma and lipoma in association with giant congenital melanocytic nevus coexisting in one nodule: a case report.

Giant congenital melanocytic nevi (GCMN) are rare conditions that defined as melanocytic lesion recognized at birth, which will reach a diameter larger than 20 cm, and they occur in about 1 per 500,000 newborns. Despite its rarity, they may associate with severe abnormalities like spina bifida occulta, meningocele, club foot and hypertrophy or atrophy of deeper structures of a limb, Carney complex, premature aging syndromes, neurofibroma, vitiligo, lipoma and dysplasia of bilateral hip impact on the patient. In this case, we report a 3-years-old male child presenting a GCMN with large, blackish, and thick nevus covering over the entire neck, back, and lower to the waist level.

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2) Glu504Lys polymorphism is associated with hypertension risk in Asians: a meta-analysis.

Background: The association of the aldehyde dehydrogenases-2 (ALDH2) Glu504Lys polymorphism and hypertension in Asians has been investigated. This meta-analysis aims to comprehensively assess the influence of this polymorphism on the hypertension risk.

Method: An electronic literature search was conducted using the following database: PubMed, Embase and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) till to Mar 25th, 2015.

Mandible ameloblastoma with lung metastasis: a rare case report.

Background: The ameloblastoma is the most common odontogenic epithelial tumor, which belong to benign neoplasms that present a painless course, and usually occur in the oromaxillo-facial region. Although the histopathological manifestation of ameloblastoma is benign, it has unique biological behavior, for example local invasion and recurrence repeatedly. A few case of ameloblastoma was locally aggressive growth, and rarely metastasis to other tissue, for example the lungs, lymph nodes, and spine.

Vascular endothelial growth factor polymorphisms and lung cancer risk.

The VEGF polymorphisms has been implicated in the susceptibility to lung cancer, but the results are not conclusive. The aim of this study is to investigate the association between the VEGF polymorphisms and the risk of lung cancer by meta-analysis. We searched PubMed, Embase, CNKI and Wanfang databases.

Genetic polymorphisms of IL-6 and IL-10 genes correlate with lung cancer in never-smoking Han population in China.

Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world, especially in China. It is believed that genetic polymorphisms played a role in cancer susceptibility. Here we investigated the association of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) gene polymorphisms with the susceptibility of lung cancer in never-smoking Chinese Han population.

Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 4G/5G polymorphism is associated with coronary artery disease risk: a meta-analysis.

Background: The aim of the current study was to evaluate the association of PAI-1 4G/5G polymorphism with coronary artery disease (CAD) risk using a meta-analysis.

Methods: All eligible studies were identified through a search of PubMed, EMBASE, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Database of Chinese Scientific and Technical Periodicals, and China Biology Medical literature database (CBM) before June 2014. The association between the PAI-1 4G/5G polymorphism and CAD risk was estimated by odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI).
