While studies have explored the feasibility of switching between various thrombopoietin receptor agonists in treating immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), data on the switching from eltrombopag to hetrombopag remains scarce. This post-hoc analysis of a phase III hetrombopag trial aimed to assess the outcomes of ITP patients who switched from eltrombopag to hetrombopag. In the original phase III trial, patients initially randomized to the placebo group were switched to eltrombopag.

Background: The systemic immuno-inflammation index (SII), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) are widely used and have been shown to be predictive indicators of various diseases. Diabetic nephropathy (DN), retinopathy (DR), and peripheral neuropathy (DPN) are the most prominent and common microvascular complications, which have seriously negative impacts on patients, families, and society. Exploring the associations with these three indicators and diabetic microvascular complications are the main purpose.

Background: Recent evidence strongly suggests the profound role of the tumor microenvironment in cancer development and progression. A hypoxic microenvironment is widely acknowledged to be a typical feature of solid tumors, and altered hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α) expression has been associated with the formation and the progression of many solid tumors; however, the underlying mechanism of this relationship remains obscure.

Methods: Clinical colorectal cancer tissue samples were collected to detect the differential expression of HIF-1α, Ras homolog family member A (RhoA), and Rho-associated, coiled-coil containing protein kinase 2 (ROCK2).

Deep sternal wound infection (DSWI) is one of the potential and catastrophic complications after cardiac surgery. Despite the use of smaller incisions, routine application of prophylactic antibiotic and optimized blood glucose management, the incidence rate of DSWI still fluctuates between 1% and 5%. The early symptoms and signs of DSWI are not often obvious, making it too late for the clinicians to intervene in the process.

February 2024

Key Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry for Life Science of Shaanxi Province, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Shaanxi Normal University, Xi'an, 710062, China.

An enzyme immunoassay was developed based on the coulometric measurement of immunoglobulin M (IgM) against Hantaan viruses (HTNV) by using virus-like particles (VLPs) as recognition molecules. The surface functionalization of screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) was achieved through paste-exfoliated graphene that was modified with a COOH group and a thionine mediator through supramolecular-covalent scaffolds, on SPCEs by using the binder contained in the ink. After the covalent immobilization of the antibody, the sensor was used for the sandwich enzyme immunoassay of IgM against HTNV.
