This study aims to optimize the process for preparing chitosan-based ultrasound-coupled hydrogel pads and investigate their application potential in ultrasonography. Chitosan, 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid, and N-isopropylacrylamide were used as the main materials to prepare chitosan-based ultrasound-coupled hydrogel pads. The free-radical polymerization conditions were optimized by a three-factor, three-level orthogonal test with the tensile strength and ultrasound image quality of the hydrogel pads as evaluation indicators.

To analyze the relationship between genotype and clinical phenotype of the MYH7-R453C mutation in five Chinese hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) families. A retrospective cohort study was conducted on 527 unrelated HCM probands who were first diagnosed at the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University (Xijing Hospital) from February 2014 to July 2018, and the high-throughput whole exome targeted sequencing of 96 genes related to hereditary cardiovascular disease was performed on the probands. The probands carrying the MYH7-R453C mutation were screened out, and their family members carrying the mutation were verified using Sanger sequencing.

Surgical site infection (SSI) following lumbar disc herniation (LDH) surgery leads to prolonged hospital stays, increased costs and reoperations. Therefore, we aim to develop and validate a nomogram to predict the risk of SSI following LDH surgery, thereby helping spine surgeons design personalized prevention strategies and promote early recovery. Background: Unplanned reoperation postspinal surgery (URPS) leads to prolonged hospital stays, higher costs, decreased patient satisfaction, and adversely affects postoperative rehabilitation. This study aimed to develop and validate prediction models (nomograms) for early URPS risk factors using machine learning methods, aiding spine surgeons in designing prevention strategies, promoting early recovery, reducing complications, and improving patient satisfaction.
Methods: Medical records of 639 patients who underwent reoperation postspinal surgery from the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University (2018-2022) were collected, including baseline indicators, perioperative indicators, and laboratory indicators.

Background: Accurate evaluation of the response to preoperative treatment enables the provision of a more appropriate personalized therapeutic schedule for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC), which remains an enormous challenge, especially neoadjuvant immunotherapy plus chemoradiotherapy (nICRT).
Methods: This prospective, multicenter cohort study enrolled patients with LARC from 6 centers who received nICRT. The dynamic variation in the gut microbiome during nICRT was evaluated.
