Uncommon atypical mutations account for 10-15% of all epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) activating mutations in nonsmall-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Tumors harboring rare EGFR mutations show highly heterogeneous responses to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). There is insufficient clinical evidence for uncommon types of EGFR mutations, especially those with compound EGFR mutations.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common progressive degenerative disease. Gut microbiota (GM) and their metabolites have been closely associated with the onset, progression, and pathology of OA. GM and their metabolites may influence the cartilage directly, or indirectly by affecting the gut, the immune system, and the endocrine system.

Purpose: To develop and validate a radiomics nomogram model for predicting the micropapillary pattern (MPP) in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) tumors of ≤2 cm in size.
Methods: In this study, 300 LUAD patients from our institution were randomly divided into the training cohort (n = 210) and an internal validation cohort (n = 90) at a ratio of 7:3, besides, we selected 65 patients from another hospital as the external validation cohort. The region of interest of the tumor was delineated on the computed tomography (CT) images, and radiomics features were extracted.

Malnutrition substantially contributes to adverse clinical outcomes. However, no national survey has been conducted to characterize its epidemiology in hospital settings in China. We conducted the China Nutrition Fundamental Data 2020 project among a multistage stratified cluster sample of adult inpatients from 291 study sites across 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities (except for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan Province, and the Xizang Autonomous Region, please see MATERIALS AND METHODS for details of the causes) of China to generate reliable data on the prevalence of malnutrition and explore the associated risk factors.

Introduction: Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a common diabetes-related complication with unclear underlying pathological mechanisms. Although recent studies have linked glycolysis to various pathological states, its role in DN remains largely underexplored.
Methods: In this study, the expression patterns of glycolysis-related genes (GRGs) were first analyzed using the GSE30122, GSE30528, and GSE96804 datasets, followed by an evaluation of the immune landscape in DN.

Background: Sarcomas (SARC) are a diverse group of malignant tumors originating from mesenchymal tissues, characterized by poor prognosis under conventional therapies. CX3CR1, a chemokine receptor involved in immune cell migration, has emerged as a key player in SARC. Post-translational modifications (PTMs) such as phosphorylation and ubiquitination critically modulate CX3CR1, influencing cancer progression, immune responses, and treatment resistance.

Background: For patients with epilepsy, antiseizure medication remains the primary treatment; however, it is ineffective in approximately 30% of cases. These patients experience progressive neuronal damage and poor outcomes. Therefore, there is an urgent need for disease-modifying therapy (DMT) that targets the pathogenesis of epilepsy.

Soluble vector family member 6 (SLC2A6) has been implicated in the aggressiveness and poor prognosis of various cancers, yet its specific role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains to be fully elucidated. This study utilized multiple databases to investigate the relationship between SLC2A6 expression and clinical stage, methylation status, drug sensitivity, immune infiltration, and immune checkpoint regulation. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses were conducted.

Objective: To assess the stability of odontoid parameters on flexion-extension motion and to validate the accuracy of the physiological cervical lordosis (CL) predictive formula across different cervical positions.
Methods: Standard cervical spine lateral radiographs in neutral, flexion, and extension positions were collected to measure odontoid incidence (OI), odontoid tilt (OT), C2 slope (C2S), CL, T1 slope (T1S), and T1S minus CL (T1S-CL). Friedman's test was used to assess the differences in parameters among the three cervical spine positions.

Recently, oncolytic virus (OV) therapy has shown great promise in treating malignancies. However, intravenous safety and inherent lack of immunity are two significant limitations in clinical practice. Herein, we successfully developed a recombinant Newcastle disease virus with porcine α1,3GT gene (NDV-GT) triggering hyperacute rejection.

Aim: The continuous update of international guidelines and enhanced availability of biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) and targeted synthetic DMARDs (tsDMARDs) have made a significant impact on the diagnosis and treatment of early rheumatoid arthritis (ERA). This study aims to systematically evaluate the current treatment strategies and outcomes within a large-scale cohort of patients with ERA.
Methods: Data from the Chinese Registry of Rheumatoid Arthritis (CREDIT), a large multicenter Chinese registry of RA, were collected to analyze temporal trends in clinical profiles, therapeutic strategies, and treatment outcomes among patients with ERA.

Primary malignant bone tumors are the third highest cause of cancer-related mortality among patients under the age of 20. X-ray scan is the primary tool for detecting bone tumors. However, due to the varying morphologies of bone tumors, it is challenging for radiologists to make a definitive diagnosis based on radiographs.

Background: Postmenopausal Osteoporosis (PMOP) is characterized by decreased bone mass and deterioration of bone microarchitecture, leading to increased fracture risk. Current treatments often have adverse effects, necessitating safer alternatives. Kaempferol, a flavonoid identified as a key active component of the traditional Chinese medicine Yishen Gushu formula, has shown promise in improving bone health, but its mechanisms in PMOP treatment remain unclear.

Pediatric high-grade gliomas (pHGGs) are the most common brain malignancies in children and are characterized by blocked differentiation. The epigenetic landscape of pHGGs, particularly the H3K27-altered and H3G34-mutant subtypes, suggests these tumors may be particularly susceptible to strategies that target blocked differentiation. Differentiation therapy aims to overcome this differentiation blockade by promoting glioma cell differentiation into more mature and less malignant cells.

Axillary dose restriction (ADR) is rarely implemented in breast cancer radiotherapy by radiation oncologists to minimize exposure to organs at risk (OARs), particularly the axilla. This prospective randomized controlled study aims to evaluate the efficacy of ADR in improving plan quality (PQ) and its impact on acute radiation dermatitis (ARD) in breast cancer radiotherapy. The study recruited breast cancer patients who required postoperative radiotherapy but did not have an indication for axillary irradiation.

Background: Sepsis-induced acute lung injury (S-ALI) significantly contributes to unfavorable clinical outcomes. Emerging evidence suggests a novel role for ferroptosis in the pathophysiology of ALI, though the precise mechanisms remain unclear. Mild hypothermia (32-34 °C) has been shown to inhibit inflammatory responses, reduce oxidative stress, and regulate metabolic processes.
