Background: Cholesterol metabolism plays a crucial role in tumor progression and immune response modulation. However, the precise connection between cholesterol metabolism-related genes (CMRGs) and their implications for clinical prognosis, the tumor microenvironment (TME), and the outcomes of immunotherapy in gastric cancer remains to be fully elucidated.
Methods: Transcriptome data and related clinical information from 675 gastric cancer patients were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases.

Background: Cognitive decline following acute ischemic stroke (AIS), termed post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI), is a prevalent phenomenon that significantly elevates disability and mortality rates among affected patients. The objective of this investigation was to develop a robust clinical prediction model capable of forecasting PSCI within six months post-AIS and subsequently validate its effectiveness.
Methods: A cohort of 573 AIS patients was stratified into two groups: those with PSCI (260 cases) and those who remained cognitively normal (CN) (313 cases).
Objectives: Comorbidity prediction models have been demonstrated to offer more comprehensive and accurate predictions of death risk compared to single indices. However, their application in China has been limited, particularly among maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the utility of comorbidity index models in predicting mortality risk among Chinese MHD patients.

Mitochondrial ribosomal protein L21 (MRPL21) is essential for normal cell function and may play a significant role in cancer development. In this study, we performed a comprehensive pan-cancer analysis to explore MRPL21's function across different cancers, utilizing multiple online data platforms such as TCGA. Our analysis covered its clinical significance and biological functions, including expression levels, survival and diagnostic analysis, gene mutations, multidimensional immune-correlation analysis, tumor heterogeneity, and cancer-associated signaling pathways.

Objective: Ovarian cancer significantly impacts women's reproductive health and remains challenging to diagnose and treat. Despite advancements in understanding DNA repair mechanisms and identifying novel therapeutic targets, additional strategies are still needed. Recently, a novel form of cell death called disulfidptosis, which is triggered by glucose deprivation, has been linked to treatment resistance and changes in the tumor microenvironment (TME).

Some studies have confirmed that pathogens can cause infection through bacterial cultures on the surface of infectious keloids. However, further exploration of the comparison between infectious and non-infectious keloids and the bacterial flora of infectious foci is lacking. To investigate the differential flora of purulent secretions on the surface of infectious keloids compared to non-infectious keloids and to determine the microbial composition within the infectious foci.

Suraxavir marboxil (GP681) is an antiviral drug inhibiting the polymerase acidic protein (PA) of RNA polymerase, of influenza. It has shown therapeutic activity against influenza A and B virus infections in preclinical studies. In this multicenter randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase 3 trial, we aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of single-dose suraxavir marboxil (40-mg oral dose) in otherwise healthy outpatients aged 5-65 years with uncomplicated influenza unaccompanied by severe issues.

Background: The incidence of metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease in patients with chronic hepatitis B is increasing annually; however, the interaction between hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and lipid metabolism remains unclear. This study attempted to clarify whether fatty acid metabolism regulation could alleviate mitochondrial dysfunction caused by HBV infection.
Methods: Public gene set of human livers was analyzed, and a proteomic analysis on mouse livers was conducted to explore metabolic disorders and affected organelles associated with HBV infection.

Introduction: Laennec's capsule serves as a critical anatomical landmark in anatomical liver resection. Despite its potential, a lack of large-scale prospective studies limits the widespread use of the Laennec approach for minimally invasive hepatectomy. This multicenter cohort study aimed to compare the outcomes of the traditional and Laennec approaches in minimally invasive anatomical hepatectomy across multiple centers in China.

Research has indicated a link between obesity and a greater likelihood of venous disorders. However, the specific relationship between obesity in children and conditions such as phlebitis and thrombophlebitis remains undetermined. To explore this, we undertook a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) study to investigate the possible causal impact of childhood body mass index (BMI) on the development of phlebitis and thrombophlebitis.

Methamphetamine (METH) abuse disrupts the homeostasis of neurotransmitter (NT) metabolism, contributing to a wide range of neurological and psychological disorders. However, the specific effects of METH on NT metabolism, particularly for the tryptophan (TRP) and tyrosine (TYR) metabolic pathways, remain poorly understood. In this study, serum samples from 78 METH abusers and 79 healthy controls were analyzed using Ultra-High-Performance Liquid Chromatography with Tandem Mass Spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS).
