Primary Cutaneous Mucinous Carcinoma of the Left Zygomatic Region: A Case Report.

We describe a case involving a 50-year-old male with who presented with a facial lesion on the left cheek of zygomatic region for 7 years. The diagnosis of primary cutaneous mucinous carcinoma (PCMC) was established through immunohistochemistry and histopathology. And the patient underwent wide excision of the tumor, has no evidence of recurrence after 15 months of follow-up.

Photodynamic therapy with hematoporphyrin derivative for the treatment of penile verrucous carcinoma: A case report.

Verrucous carcinoma, a well-differentiated variant of squamous cell carcinoma with low-grade malignancy, is often associated with localized human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and excessive penile foreskin. We report a 45-year-old male who presented with a verrucous plaque on the glans penis for over four months, along with itching. Examination revealed a verrucous, erosive lesion with a cauliflower-like surface, firm texture, and irregular shape, accompanied by pain, bleeding, and a foul odor.

Giant Scapular Vascular Eccrine Spiroadenomas: A Rare Case Report.

Giant vascular eccrine spiradenoma (GVES) is a dermal adnexal neoplasm, representing a malignant variant of eccrine spiradenoma. We report a case of giant scapular vascular eccrine spiroadenomas. This case is characterized by its large size and location in a region with sparse vascular distribution, along with a favorable postoperative prognosis, which merits reporting.

Background: Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is a severe chronic lung disease primarily affecting premature infants, often resulting from prolonged mechanical ventilation and oxygen therapy. Oxidative stress plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of BPD, contributing to lung injury, inflammation, and impaired lung development. Despite extensive research, there is a need to systematically map out the research trends and hotspots in this field to inform future studies and therapeutic strategies.

Rare Case Report of Primary Active Pulmonary Tuberculosis During Ixekizumab Treatment for Plaque Psoriasis.

Biologic agents have become a mainstay in the treatment of psoriasis, particularly in moderate to severe, refractory, and special types of the disease. Among these, ixekizumab is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody targeting interleukin-17A, approved for the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. Its adverse effects include infections such as nasopharyngitis, upper respiratory tract infections, and injection site reactions.

Ferroptosis is a novel type of cell death that is dependent on lipid peroxidation and iron accumulation, which distinguishes it from other types of programmed cell death. Current research indicates a significant association between ferroptosis and various pathological conditions, including cancer, neurological disorders, and cardiovascular diseases, albeit with a relatively unexplored role in dermatological afflictions. This paper elaborates on the mechanisms and signalling pathways of ferroptosis, summarizing the recent studies on ferroptosis and its related factors in dermatosis.

Report on a Rare Case of Limited CD4/CD8 Double-Positive Paget Reticulosis with Literature Review.

Restricted pagetoid reticulosis, also known as Woringer-Kolopp disease, represents a rare cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorder categorized as an isolated variant of mycosis fungoides. This report presents a case involving limited pagetoid reticulosis affecting the right upper extremity in a 25-year-old female. The patient had been experiencing plaques on the right upper extremity for a decade.

Photodynamic therapy successfully treats refractory onychomycosis caused by Trichosporon asahii: a case report.

Onychomycosis, a fungal infection affecting the nail, is characterized by discoloration and thickening of the nail plate and is the most prevalent nail infection globally. We present a case of onychomycosis caused by Trichosporon asahii, a less common etiology. Notably, the patient was successfully treated with a non-traditional antibacterial approach, photodynamic therapy, which has been infrequently documented in the literature for such infections.

Kerion, a severe manifestation of tinea capitis caused by dermatophytes, is a fungal skin disease primarily affecting children. This report discusses six cases of pediatric kerion that were successfully treated with a combination of photodynamic therapy (PDT) and antifungal agents. Additionally, we conducted a literature review, identifying and analyzing six published reports on kerion and tinea capitis.

Background: HIV-1 CRF65_cpx strain carries drug-resistant mutations, which raises concerns about its potential for causing virologic failure. The CRF65_cpx ranks as the fourth most prevalent on Hainan Island, China. However, the origin and molecular epidemiology of CRF65_cpx strains in this area remain unclear.

Rowell's syndrome with Condyloma acuminatum: A case report.

Rowell's syndrome is an autoimmune disease characterized by lupus erythematosus, erythema multiforme skin lesions, and speckled antinuclear antibody. We report the case of a woman who presented with erythema multiforme with target-type skin lesions and vulvar vegetation who fulfilled the criteria for Rowell's syndrome and condyloma acuminatum. The simultaneous occurrence of both conditions has rarely been reported in the literature.

Do VIP medical services damage efficiency? New evidence of medical institutions' total factor productivity using Chinese panel data.

This study examines the causal impact of very important person (VIP) medical services on hospital total factor productivity in Deyang, a prefectural-level city in western China, spanning the years 2015-2020. This aims to offer empirical evidence and policy recommendations for the implementation of VIP practices in the medical field. A secondary unbalanced panel dataset of 416 observations was collected from the annual reports of the Health Commission and 92 eligible medical institutions were included.

Superficial Acral fibroma (SAF), also known as osteofibroma, is a rare fibromatous tumor primarily involving superficial soft tissues. Clinically, SAF typically manifests as a slow-growing, solitary, well-defined nodule or mass. Although these lesions are generally asymptomatic, some cases may present with associated pain, often linked to a history of trauma.
