Background: As a newly approved immune checkpoint inhibitor in China, serplulimab has been widely used in the immunotherapy of tumors. However, the immune-related adverse events of immune checkpoint inhibitors should not be ignored. Although immune checkpoint inhibitor-induced type 1 diabetes mellitus is a rare complication, it may cause diabetic ketoacidosis and endanger the lives of patients.

Background: With the increasing incidence of diabetes, diabetic foot ulcer(DFU) has become one of the most common and serious complications in people with diabetes. DFU is associated with significant morbidity and mortality, and can also result in significant economic, social and public health burdens. Due to peripheral neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease, hyperglycemic environment, inflammatory disorders and other factors, the healing of DFU is impaired or delayed, resulting in the formation of diabetic chronic refractory ulcer.

The purpose of the meta-analysis was to evaluate and compare the effect of intrawound management on decreasing deep surgical site infections (SSIs) in instrumented spinal surgery (SS). The results of this meta-analysis were analysed, and the odds ratio (OR) and mean difference (MD) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using dichotomous or contentious random or fixed effect models. For the current meta-analysis, 29 examinations spanning from 2006 to 2022 were included, encompassing 11 181 people who had instrumented SS.

Tumor immunotherapy is a safe and effective strategy for precision medicine. However, immunotherapy for most cancer cases still ends in failure, with the root causes of the immunosuppressive and extraordinary heterogeneity of the solid tumors microenvironment. The emerging biomimetic nanodelivery system provides a promising tactic to improve the immunotherapy effect while reducing the adverse reactions on nontarget cells.

Male hypogonadism can seriously affect male health and fertility, yet comprehensive bibliometric and visualization analyses of research in this area have been lacking. This study aimed to examine the distribution of literature, identify research hotspots, and discern development trends in male hypogonadism by analyzing 4026 English documents published between 2000 and 2023 using bibliometric and visual analyses. The results indicated a significant increase in publications and citations related to male hypogonadism over the past two decades, with the United States, the University of Florence, Maggi M, and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism recognized as the most productive and highly cited country, institution, author, and journal, respectively.

Leiomyosarcoma occurring in the bone as primary tumor localization is extremely scarce with limited cases described in the literature, accounting for less than 0.7% of all primary bone malignancies. Once distant metastasis occurs, patients have limited treatments and often a somber prognosis, which underscore the need for innovative and effective treatment approaches.

Markers with inflammatory properties, such as the ratio of neutrophils to lymphocytes and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), have been documented as potential indicators for predicting pathologic complete response (pCR) following neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in cases of breast cancer. However, whether early changes of PLR (ΔPLR) during NACT can predict pCR has not been reported. A total of 257 breast cancer patients who underwent NACT were retrospectively analyzed.

As the obesity epidemic continues to escalate, the need for bariatric surgery will increase. Patients with severe cardiomyopathy and heart failure have historically been considered at high risk for perioperative complications and thus excluded from bariatric surgery. We herein describe a patient with morbid obesity, severe cardiomyopathy, and heart failure who successfully and safely underwent bariatric surgery and achieved significant weight loss and overall cardiac function improvement 1 year later.

This study aimed to evaluate the bioequivalence between test tablet dacomitinib and reference product Vizimpro® under fasting and fed conditions and assess their pharmacokinetic (PK) and safety profiles for gaining marketing approval of the new generic drug. A single-center, randomized, open-label, single-dose, two-treatment, two-period, crossover bioequivalence study was conducted in healthy Chinese subjects. Eligible healthy subjects randomly received a single 45 mg dose of test or reference formulations with an administration sequence of test tablet (T), reference tablet (R), or (RT), under both fasting and fed conditions, and each single administration was followed by a 21-day washout period.

Background: Sintilimab (Sin) helps the body to restore the anti-tumor response of T lymphocytes. However, in clinical use, the treatment process is more complicated due to adverse effects and different dosing regimens. It is not clear whether prebiotics (PREB) have a potentiating effect on Sin for lung adenocarcinoma, and this study intends to investigate the inhibitory effect, safety and possible mechanism of Sin combined with PREB on lung adenocarcinoma from animal experiments.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) targeting CTLA-4 and PD-1/PD-L1 to boost tumor-specific T lymphocyte immunity have opened up new avenues for the treatment of various histological types of malignancies, with the possibility of durable responses and improved survival. However, the development of acquired resistance to ICI therapy over time after an initial response remains a major obstacle in cancer therapeutics. The potential mechanisms of acquired resistance to ICI therapy are still ambiguous.
