Intraocular tumours, such as choroidal haemangioma, can cause exudative retinal detachments, which mimic central serous chorioretinopathy. Key symptoms of a choroidal haemangioma include reduced visual acuity, visual field defects, and metamorphopsia. More rarely, it can cause photopsia, myodesopsia, and pain.

Empirical antimicrobial therapy is linked to a surge in antimicrobial resistant infections. However, an insight on the bacteria etiology of ocular infections is essential in the appropriation of choice of antimicrobial among clinicians, yet there remains a dearth of data from Ghana. We investigated the bacteria etiology of external ocular and periocular infections and antimicrobial treatment patterns among a Ghanaian ophthalmic population.

A new surgical technique of transscleral-intracorneal suture fixation of intraocular lenses with suture ends located within the transparent corneal or corneal-limbal paracentesis is reported. This new technique significantly reduces scleral and conjunctival trauma, is minimally invasive, is simple to perform, is not associated with complicated intraocular surgical maneuvers, and precludes suture knot, flange, and suture-end erosion. The internal part of the corneal stroma or corneal-limbal area serves as a secure depot for suture-end fixation with durable resistance.

Background: Diabetic papillopathy is a rare diagnosis of exclusion characterized by unilateral or bilateral optic disc edema with variable degrees of visual loss. Although the visual prognosis has been generally reported as favorable, the presence of severe disc edema associated with macular edema prompts the need for treatment. We present a specific and unreported therapeutic approach consisting of intravitreal aflibercept and subtenon triamcinolone acetonide injections in two patients with evidence of diabetic papillopathy and macular edema.

: Mobility and fall risk may be important considerations in choosing between intraocular lenses.: Fall risk in older adults increases when wearing multifocal spectacles, but little is known about mobility among individuals with different types of intraocular lenses. This study compared visual function, fall risk and balance control following bilateral implantation of monofocal or multifocal intraocular lenses.

Purpose: To determine the effect of panmacular low-intensity/high-density subthreshold diode micropulse laser (SDM) on age-related geographic atrophy (ARGA) progression.
Methods: The retinal images of all eyes with ARGA in a previously reported database, consisting of all eyes with dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) active in a vitreoretinal practice electronic medical record (EMR), were identified and analyzed to determine the velocity of radial linear ARGA progression during observation and after panmacular SDM.
Results: Sixty-seven eyes of 49 patients with ARGA, mean age of 86 years were identified as having follow-up both before and after initiation of SDM treatment.
