Objective: This study evaluated the efficacy of the ProTaper Universal Retreatment system (PTUR) and XP-endo Finisher R instrument (XPFR) in removing 64-month-old root filling material from minimally-instrumented mandibular molar canals.
Methods: Forty-eight root canals with Vertucci type II or IV configurations from 30 mandibular molars were instrumented to size 20/0.04 taper using Vortex Blue NiTi rotary instruments and irrigated with the GentleWave system.

Objective: Patients who exhibit severe loss of tooth structure are challenging to rehabilitate. Conventional treatment of these patients may require adjunctive procedures of surgical crown lengthening, elective endodontic therapy and placement of posts and cores to retain full coverage crowns as part of a full mouth rehabilitation. Minimally invasive approaches to treatment of these patients provides opportunity to conserve tooth structure and to reduce adjunctive procedures by using an advanced adhesive approach to retain all ceramic partial coverage restorations as part of a full mouth rehabilitation.

The development of scaffolds for repairing critical-sized bone defects heavily relies on establishing a neuro-vascularized network for proper penetration of nerves and blood vessels. Despite significant advancements in using artificial bone-like scaffolds infused with various agents, challenges remain. Natural bone tissue consists of a porous bone matrix surrounded by a neuro-vascularized periosteum, with unique piezoelectric properties essential for bone growth.

Introduction: Xerostomia is a subjective sensation of dry mouth affecting millions of people worldwide. Current management has limitations, often causing side effects. This study aims to investigate whether electrical stimulation of the lingual nerve could offer effective relief for xerostomia sufferers.

Background: Limited treatment options exist for damaged nerves and despite impressive advances in tissue engineering, scientists and clinicians have yet to fully replicate nerve development and recruitment. Innervation is a critical feature for normal organ function. While most organs are innervated prior to birth, a rare example of postnatal nerve recruitment occurs in the natural development of secondary teeth during adolescence.

Peri-implantitis and osseointegration failure present considerable challenges to the prolonged stability of oral implants. To address these issues, there is an escalating demand for a resilient implant surface coating that seamlessly integrates antimicrobial features to combat bacteria-induced peri‑implantitis, and osteogenic properties to promote bone formation. In the present study, a bio-inspired poly(amidoamine) dendrimer (DA-PAMAM-NH) is synthesized by utilizing a mussel protein (DA) known for its strong adherence to various materials.

The purpose of this study was to introduce a novel and simple method of evaluating the crystal length and crystalline content of lithium disilicate dental ceramics using images obtained from scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and analyzed with ImageJ (NIH) processing software. Three evaluators with varying experience levels assessed the average crystal length and percentage of crystalline content in four commercial lithium disilicate reinforced glass ceramic materials: IPS e.max (Ivoclar Vivadent), Rosetta SM (Hass), T-Lithium (Talmax), and IRIS CAD (Tianjin).

Purpose: This study aimed to assess the impact of battery levels in single-peak and multi-peak light-curing units (LCUs) on irradiance, and their effects on glass fiber post push-out bond strength to root dentin and the degree of conversion of dual-cure universal resin cement.
Methods And Materials: Sixty bovine roots underwent endodontic treatment and were randomly distributed into 6 groups (n=10), formed by combining two LCUs (single-peak and multipeak) and three battery levels (100%, 50%, and 10%). A spectrophotometer measured irradiance (mW/ cm2) and spectral irradiance (mW/cm2/nm).

Background: This study aimed to assess the quality of various obturation techniques to fill perforation caused by internal root resorption using Micro-computed Tomography.
Methods: Cone-beam computed tomography images of a maxillary central incisor tooth with perforating internal resorptive defect were used to create a 3D printed model of the affected tooth. The replicas were divided into four groups based on the obturation technique used.

Objective: To design and evaluate a matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9)-responsive hydrogel for vital pulp therapy.
Methods: A peptide linker with optimized sensitivity toward MMP-9 was crosslinked with 4-arm poly (ethylene glycol)-norbornene (PEG-NB) by thiol-norbornene photo-polymerization. This resulted in the formation of a hydrogel network in which the peptide IDR-1002 was incorporated.
