The impact of detention on the health of asylum seekers: An updated systematic review: A systematic review.

Background: The number of people fleeing persecution and regional conflicts is rising. Western countries have applied increasingly stringent measures to discourage those seeking asylum from entering their country, amongst them, to confine asylum seekers in detention facilities. Clinicians have expressed concerns over the mental health impact of detention on asylum seekers, a population already burdened with trauma, advocating against such practices.

Participation in organised sport to improve and prevent adverse developmental trajectories of at-risk youth: A systematic review.

Background: Healthy after-school activities such as participation in organised sport have been shown to serve as important resources for reducing school failure and other problem/high-risk behaviour. It remains to be established to what extent organised sport participation has positive impacts on young people in unstable life circumstances.

Objectives: What are the effects of organised sport on risk behaviour, personal, emotional and social skills of young people, who either have experienced or are at-risk of experiencing an adverse outcome?

Search Methods: The database searches were carried out in March 2023 and other sources were searched in May 2023.

Cost-effectiveness of 12 weeks of supervised treatment compared to written advice in patients with knee osteoarthritis: a secondary analysis of the 2-year outcome from a randomized trial.

Objective: To assess the 24-month cost-effectiveness of supervised treatment compared to written advice in knee osteoarthritis (OA).

Design: 100 adults with moderate-severe OA not eligible for total knee replacement (TKR) randomized to a 12-week individualized, supervised treatment (exercise, education, diet, insoles and pain medication) or written advice. Effectiveness was measured as change in quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) from baseline to 24 months, including data from baseline, 3, 6, 12 and 24 months, while healthcare costs and transfer payments were derived from national registries after final follow-up.

Professionals' experiences with palliative care and collaboration in relation to a randomised clinical trial: a qualitative interview study.

Background: International evidence on the outcome of generalist versus specialist palliative care provision in palliative care trajectories is limited and varied. In general, intervention studies can influence the organisation of palliative care practice and professional collaborations. However, randomised clinical trials in palliative care rarely consider the organisational significance of the studies, as experienced by the professionals involved.

Content and validation of the Electronic Patient Medication module (EPM)-the administrative in-hospital drug use database in the Capital Region of Denmark.

Registries on in-hospital drug use are sparse, especially those that can be linked to nationwide registries. In this study, we present and validate the Electronic Patient Medication module (EPM)-the electronic administrative database on in-hospital drug use covering the Capital Region of Denmark. The research database (EPM-research) is an adaptation of the database underlying the electronic administrative database for in-hospital drug use (EPM-clinic).

Mortality and use of psychotropic medication in sleep apnoea patients: a population-wide register-based study.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate all-cause mortality in relation to the use of benzodiazepines, antidepressants and antipsychotics in obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) patients and matched controls.

Methods: Patients with a diagnosis of OSA and no pre-index use of psychotropic medication (n = 38,735) were compared with control subjects (n = 75,941) matched by age, gender, marital status and community location. National register data were used to obtain information on diagnoses (the Danish National Patient Registry), mortality (the Central Person Register) and psychotropic medication use (the Danish Register on Medicinal Product Statistics).

Increasing prevalence of emotional symptoms in higher socioeconomic strata: Trend study among Danish schoolchildren 1991-2014.

The aims of this study were: (a) to examine trends in daily emotional symptoms among 11- to 15-year-olds from 1991 to 2014 in Denmark, and (b) to examine trends in social inequality in daily emotional symptoms, that is, whether the differences in prevalence between adolescents with parents of varying occupational social class changed over time. We combined seven comparable cross-sectional Health Behaviour in School-aged Children surveys (=31,169). Daily emotional symptoms were measured by the HBSC Symptom Check List and occupational social class (OSC) by students' reports about parents' occupation.

No Impact of Pre-existing Cardiovascular Disease on Prescribing Patterns of Sulphonylureas in Denmark - A Registry-based Nationwide Study.

Uncertainty exists regarding cardiovascular (CV) safety of sulphonylureas (SUs) as reflected in package labels and treatment guidelines. This study evaluated clinical treatment practice for SUs by analysing prescription patterns for SUs relative to patient history of CV disease (CVD). Patients in Denmark initiating treatment with SU or other anti-hyperglycaemic drugs during 2006-12 were retrospectively identified using national health registries.

Effects of parenting interventions for at-risk parents with infants: a systematic review and meta-analyses.

Objectives: Infancy is a critical stage of life, and a secure relationship with caring and responsive caregivers is crucial for healthy infant development. Early parenting interventions aim to support families in which infants are at risk of developmental harm. Our objective is to systematically review the effects of parenting interventions on child development and on parent-child relationship for at-risk families with infants aged 0-12 months.

Effectiveness of a two-step population-based osteoporosis screening program using FRAX: the randomized Risk-stratified Osteoporosis Strategy Evaluation (ROSE) study.

Unlabelled: The Risk-stratified Osteoporosis Strategy Evaluation (ROSE) study investigated the effectiveness of a two-step screening program for osteoporosis in women. We found no overall reduction in fractures from systematic screening compared to the current case-finding strategy. The group of moderate- to high-risk women, who accepted the invitation to DXA, seemed to benefit from the program.
