The study aimed to explore the characteristics of disseminated histoplasmosis in Hubei province through the examination of bone marrow and blood samples from 12 patients.
Results showed that while certain characteristics like moriform cell clusters and sausage-shaped cells were absent, Mycelium-phase and yeast-phase forms of Histoplasma capsulatum were successfully identified in cultured samples.
The treatment for patients included the use of Amphotericin B after positive reactions from testing, with a lack of observable infectious bodies in most cases indicating a complex diagnostic process.
