Dihydromyricetin induces cell apoptosis via a p53-related pathway in AGS human gastric cancer cells.

The aim of the present study was to determine the anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic effects of dihydromyricetin (DHM) on the AGS human gastric cancer cells and their underlying mechanisms. The effects of DHM on AGS cells were evaluated by using 3-(4, 5-di-methylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), lactate dehydrogenase, and Annexin V/propidium iodide (PI) double-staining assays. The underlying mechanisms were determined by using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction.

A case of annular pancreas accompanied with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm-case report.

Objectives: Annular pancreas is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by pancreatic tissues wrapping completely or incompletely around the descending duodenum. In most patients with annular pancreas, onset occurs in early childhood. Adults with annular pancreas are prone to duodenal ulcers and pancreatitis.

Clinical characteristics and surgical resection of multifocal papillary thyroid carcinoma: 168 cases.

Purpose: To investigate clinical characteristics and surgical treatment of multifocal papillary thyroid carcinoma.

Methods: A total of 648 patients diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma were enrolled, 168 with multifocal papillary thyroid carcinoma. Clinicopathological factors including gender, age at diagnosis, family history of thyroid tumor, multiplicity and bilaterality of tumor, extra-thyroidal extension, lymph node involvement and other factors were statistically compared.
