The X + Y scheduling approach, or block scheduling, is common among internal medicine residency programs. With the beginning of a pilot program through the American College of Graduate Medical Education in 2018, pediatrics and internal medicine-pediatrics (Med-Peds) residency programs have been able to adopt X + Y scheduling as well. The X + Y scheduling approach presents unique challenges and opportunities for combined Med-Peds residencies.

Unlabelled: The aim was to capture interdisciplinary expertise from a large group of clinicians, reflecting practice from across the UK and further, to inform subsequent development of a national consensus guidance for optimal management of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH).
Methods: Between September 2015 and October 2017, a specialist interest group including neurology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, ophthalmology, nursing, primary care doctors and patient representatives met. An initial UK survey of attitudes and practice in IIH was sent to a wide group of physicians and surgeons who investigate and manage IIH regularly.

Objective: At a time when there has been a reduction in mental health resources nationwide, the incidence of mental health disorders in children has seen a dramatic increase for many reasons.
Methods: A review of the literature was done to identify the epidemiology, barriers to care, useful emergency department (ED) screening methods, and resources regarding pediatric mental health disorders in the ED.
Results: Although there are many challenges to the provision of care for children with mental health emergencies, some resources are available.

Objective: In recent years, the increased prevalence of breastfeeding in conjunction with early discharge practices has increased the risk for marked hyperbilirubinemia in neonates. This has resulted in the potential for bilirubin brain injury in affected infants. The purpose of this study was to identify all infants >/=36 weeks' gestational age with bilirubin levels >25 mg/dL and evaluate them for early and late evidence of bilirubin brain injury.
