Methods: Using data from a nationally representative sample of patients with AMI, the detailed usage of oral antiplatelet therapy was analyzed in 40,202 consecutive eligible patients.

Aim: This study aimed to identify CD4 T-cell-derived microparticles (MPs) and investigate their roles in rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Methods: Synovial fluids from 34 RA, 33 osteoarthritis patients and 42 healthy individuals were analyzed by flow cytometry. Human fibroblast-like synoviocytes and peripheral blood mononuclear cells were cultured with or without isolated MPs, chemokines and cytokines were measured by ELISA.

Effects of sevoflurane on cardiopulmonary function in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass.

The objective of the current study was to investigate effects of sevoflurane on cardiopulmonary function in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). In this study, 60 cases of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) were selected and randomly divided into the sevoflurane group (group S) and the control group C (group C) with 30 cases in each group. The two groups received intravenous anesthesia.

Mechanism of serum miR-21 in the pathogenesis of familial and triple negative breast cancer.

The aim of this study was to clarify the mechanism of miR-21 in familial and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) by exploring the expression of serum miR-21. The sera were collected from healthy women at high risk of breast cancer. miR-39 was employed as the external reference, and real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to detect the expression of serum miR-21 in 77 subjects.

Efficacy and Safety of Danshen Compound Tablets in Preventing Thalidomide-Associated Thromboembolism in Patients with Multiple Myeloma: A Multicenter Retrospective Study.

The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Compound Danshen Tablet (CDT) in preventing thromboembolism in multiple myeloma (MM) patients treated with thalidomide-based regimens. MATERIAL AND METHODS MM patients treated with thalidomide-based regimens were retrospectively reviewed between January 2008 and March 2015.

Reduction of α1GABAA receptor mediated by tyrosine kinase C (PKC) phosphorylation in a mouse model of fragile X syndrome.

Fragile X syndrome (FXS) caused by lack of fragile X mental retardation protein (Fmr1) is the most common cause of inherited intellectual disability and characterized by many cognitive disturbances like attention deficit, autistic behavior, and audiogenic seizure and have region-specific altered expression of some gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABAA) receptor subunits. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blot experiments were performed in the cultured cortical neurons and forebrain obtained from wild-type (WT) and Fmr1 KO mice demonstrate the reduction in the expression of α1 gamma-aminobutyric acid (α1GABAA) receptor, phospho-α1GABAA receptor, PKC and phosphor-PKC in Fmr1 KO mice comparing with WT mice, both in vivo and in vitro. Furthermore, we found that the phosphorylation of the α1GABAA receptor was mediated by PKC.

Diagnostic and prognostic value of myeloid-related protein complex 8/14 for sepsis.

Objective: The objective of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic and prognostic value of myeloid-related protein complex 8/14 (MRP8/14) in septic patients in intensive care units.

Methods: Fifty-three cases of healthy people, 72 cases of systemic inflammatory response syndrome patients, 74 cases of sepsis patients, 78 cases of severe sepsis patients, and 76 cases of septic shock patients were enrolled in our hospital. Serum MRP8/14 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and Mortality in Emergency Department Sepsis (MEDS) score was calculated at enrollment.

Ovarian Ablation Using Goserelin Improves Survival of Premenopausal Patients with Stage II/III Hormone Receptor-Positive Breast Cancer without Chemotherapy-Induced Amenorrhea.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the value of ovarian ablation using goserelin in premenopausal patients with stage II/III hormone receptor-positive breast cancer without chemotherapy-induced amenorrhea (CIA).

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the data of breast patients treated between October 1999 and November 2007 without CIA. The Kaplan-Meier method was used for calculation of the survival rate.

Interleukin-17 expression in murine pressure ulcer tissues.

To explore the process of pressure ulcer formation, interleukin (IL)-17 expression levels were observed in a mouse model of pressure ulcers. Twenty mice were divided into experimental and control groups (10 mice per group). A mouse model of pressure ulcers was established by inducing ischemia-reperfusion injury on local tissue in the experimental group.
