Objective: This study evaluates the clinical efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided long duration, high voltage pulse radiofrequency (PRF) in managing primary glossopharyngeal neuralgia (GPN).

Methods: Clinical data were retrospectively analyzed for 13 patients with primary GPN who underwent this treatment between August 2019 and October 2022. Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores were assessed pre-treatment and at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months post-treatment.

Objective: Osteoporosis is a crucial risk factor for screw loosening. Our studies indicate that the bone mineral density (BMD) in the screw trajectory is a better predictor of screw loosening than the BMD of the lumbar spine or the screw insertion position. Research has shown that anchorage on the screw tip is the most significant factor for screw anchorage ability, while others argue that decreased bony quality in the pedicle poses a significant risk for screw loosening.

Background: Pediculolysis is bone hypertrophy and pseudoarthrosis caused by pedicle fracture and has often been combined with contralateral spondylolysis in previous reports. Multilevel pediculolysis with spondylolysis is extremely rare, and we report a case who underwent surgery. Cases of multisegment pediculolysis were reviewed to inspire the diagnosis and treatment of similar pathological phenomena.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigated the effectiveness of a new treatment combining camrelizumab with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) and either sorafenib or lenvatinib in comparison to TACE with just sorafenib or lenvatinib for patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
  • A total of 127 advanced HCC patients were analyzed, with 44 receiving the triple therapy and 83 receiving double treatment, revealing that the triple therapy significantly improved overall survival and progression-free survival rates.
  • While the overall response and disease control rates were similar between both groups, the triple therapy was particularly beneficial for patients with HCC related to HBV and larger tumor sizes.

Background And Aims: At present, it is difficult and risky to diagnose splenic lesions by conventional needle biopsy using computed tomography (CT) or ultrasound (US). Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided tissue acquisition is increasingly being used as a new technique to determine the tissue diagnosis of splenic lesions. Therefore, our goal was to determine the efficacy and safety of EUS-guided tissue acquisition for splenic lesions.

Background And Objectives: As an emerging minimally invasive technology, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) has been reported to treat pelvic abscess instead of surgical or image-guided percutaneous drainage (PCD) under certain conditions. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of EUS-guided drainage for patients with pelvic abscesses.

Methods: We conducted a comprehensive literature search on PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases (inception-March 2022).

Under different physiological conditions, such as microbial infection, epigenetic mechanisms regulate genes at the transcription level in living organisms. DNA methylation is a type of epigenetic mechanism in which DNA methyltransferases modify the expression of target genes. Here, we identified a full-length sequence of DNMT-1 and DNMT-2 from the Chinese oak silkworm, , which was highly similar to the homologous sequences of .

Diagnostic Value of Immune-Related Genes in Kawasaki Disease.

Front Genet

December 2021

Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Child Development and Disorders, National Clinical Research Center for Child Health and Disorders, China International Science and Technology Cooperation Base of Child Development and Critical Disorders, Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing, China.

Kawasaki disease (KD) is a systemic vasculitis that predominantly damages medium- and small-sized vessels, and mainly causes coronary artery lesions (CALs). The diagnostic criterion of KD mainly depends on clinical features, so children could be easily misdiagnosed and could suffer from CALs. Through analysis, a total of 14 immune-related DEGs were obtained, of which , , , and were identified as diagnostic markers of KD.

Vasculogenic Mimicry (VM) is the main source of blood supply in the early stage of tumor growth. Carcinoma-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are one of the most important host cells in the tumor microenvironment. Some studies have found that CAFs can promote tumor angiogenesis, but there are few reports on the relationship between CAFs and VM.

Department of Pediatrics,The Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University,Luzhou, 646000, Sichuan Provincce, China, Yunnan Provincial Research Center for Clinical Medicine of Birth Defect, Luzhou, 646000, Sichuan Province, China,E-mail:

Objective: To study the gene mutants of G6PD deficiency and their clinical featuers among children in Luzhou area.

Methods: 732 children with suspected G6PD deficiency in Luzhou area from March 2017 to July 2019 were selected, which were examined for G6PD enzyme activity and gene mutation. The G6PD enzyme activity was detected by ultraviolet rate quantification, and the gene mutation was detected by melting curve analysis-based PCR assay, and the clinical characteristics of different mutants when acute hemolysis happens were analyzed.

The hyper-activation of PI3K/AKT signaling is common in many kinds of malignant tumors and promotes cell growth. Moreover, FBXL5 is reported to play an important role in the progression of gastric cancer and cervical cancer. In this view, this study aims to explore the function of FBXL5 in the progression of colon cancer and determine if PI3K/AKT signaling pathway involves in this process.
