Effects of analgesic delivery on pelvic floor function of primiparous women.

This was an original article, and the objective of this study was to clarify the short-term effects of analgesic delivery on the pelvic floor function of primiparous women. Three hundred primiparas who delivered vaginally in The Affiliated Hospital of Kangda College of Nanjing Medical University from January 2022 to July 2022 were enrolled, and were divided into control and intervention groups. The control accepted traditional delivery without special analgesic intervention, while the intervention group accepted intraspinal block analgesia at the time of delivery.

Integration of online and offline teaching mode in biochemistry and molecular biology courses.

To enhance the effectiveness of integrating online and offline teaching, 1545 clinical and preventive medicine students from 2019 to 2021 were randomly allocated to two groups, A and B. Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Epimedii Folium (Yinyanghuo) is a commonly used Chinese herb that plays a significant role in a lot of herbal formulae used to treat sexual dysfunction. Recently, an increasing amount of research on Epimedii Folium related to male reproductive dysfunction has been reported, and the exploration and application of Epimedium are also expanding rapidly. Flavonoids make up the vast majority of the chemical composition of Epimedii Folium, with small amounts of icarsides series, alkaloids, polysaccharide, volatile oils and other natural compounds.

[Effects of electroacupuncture on expression of miR-218 and HMGB1/TLR4 signaling pathway in rats with focal cerebral ischemia].

Objectives: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) / toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling pathway and inflammatory injury in rats with focal cerebral ischemia (FCI), so as to explore its mechanisms underlying amelioration of ischemic stroke.

Methods: Male SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation (=18), model (=18) and EA (=18) groups. The FCI model was established according to Longa's method.

The effect of music intervention on depression in perinatal women: A systematic review.

Objective: Perinatal depression has become a global public health problem, which not only harms the health of mothers and their offspring, but also increases the socio-economic burden, so early intervention is urgent. Music intervention is a low-cost and safe intervention method. This study endeavored to systematically integrate and quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of music intervention for perinatal depression.

A nomogram to predict the risk of death during hospitalization in Chinese neonates with respiratory failure.

Background: Neonatal respiratory failure (NRF) is a critical condition with high morbidity and mortality rates. This study aimed to develop a nomogram prediction model to early predict the risk of death in Chinese neonates with NRF.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on NRF neonates from 21 tertiary neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) across 13 prefecture-level cities in Jiangsu Province, China, from March 2019 to March 2022.

The Efficacy and Safety of Apatinib and Anlotinib in Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.

Background: Anlotinib and apatinib, both vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (VEGFR-TKIs), are clinically established in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in China, with anlotinib emerging as a standard treatment strategy. This study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of apatinib and anlotinib, and to compare their differences in treating patients with advanced NSCLC.

Patients And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data of patients with advanced NSCLC treated with apatinib or anlotinib at a hospital in Eastern China from January 2017 to December 2021.

Background: Cesarean hysterectomy as a traditional therapeutic maneuver for placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) has been associated with serious morbidity, conservative management has been used in many institutions to treat women with PAS. This systematic review aims to compare maternal outcomes according to conservative management or cesarean hysterectomy in women with placenta accreta spectrum disorders.

Methods: A systematic literature search was performed in MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Web of Science, and four Chinese databases (Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Wanfang database and VIP database) to May 2024.

Background: Pesticides are widely used in agricultural activities. Although pesticide use is known to cause damage to the human body, its relationship with thyroid function remains unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the association between pesticide exposure and thyroid function.

Sleep quality during pregnancy and fetal growth: A prospective cohort study.

The aim of this study is to investigate the association between sleep quality during pregnancy and fetal growth. Pregnant women and their fetuses at 16-20 gestational weeks in Nantong Maternal and Child Health Hospital were recruited. Women were classified as having "good sleep quality" (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score ≤ 5) and "poor sleep quality" (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score > 5) according to the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores.

Background: The association between reproductive lifespan and depression in older women is unclear. We conducted this analysis to explore whether a shorter reproductive lifespan is associated with higher odds of depression, while also considering the age at menarche and age at menopause.

Methods: This observational study used data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), which was conducted between 2005 and 2018.

Management of six episodes of intraoperative cardiac arrests in an infant with traumatic bronchial rupture: A case report.

Rationale: Traumatic bronchial rupture in infants usually necessitates surgical intervention, with few reports documenting instances of multiple cardiac arrests occurring during surgery under conditions of severe hypoxemia.

Patient Concerns: A 3-year-old boy after trauma presented with severe hypoxemia for 2 days and was urgently transferred to the operating room for surgery, 6 episodes of cardiac arrest happend during surgery.

Diagnoses: The baby was diagnosed with bronchial rupture based on the history of trauma, clinica manifestations, and intraoperative findings.

Aim: To investigate nutritional risk across children in their first 2 years at child health care clinics in Jiangsu, China, and to highlight the importance of nutritional risk screening in outpatient clinics.

Methods: A multi-centre, cross-sectional, observational study was conducted among outpatients in child health care clinics. Nutritional risk screening using the STRONGkids tool and anthropometric assessments were performed on children under 2 years old at outpatient initial visits in ten hospitals from March 2021 to March 2022.

As Wharton's jelly-mesenchymal stem cells (WJ-MSCs) are considered to be able to prevent abortion, this study aims to explore the currently poorly understood underlining molecular signaling pathways and regulatory mechanisms of WJ-MSCs in pregnancy maintenance.

Methods: Abortion mode is established by subcutaneous injection of bromocriptine in rat on day 9 and abortion prevention is achieved by WJ-MSCs injection via tail vein.

MALAT1 binds to miR-188-3p to regulate ALOX5 activity in the lung inflammatory response of neonatal bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) causes high morbidity and mortality in infants, but no effective preventive or therapeutic agents have been developed to combat BPD. In this study, we assessed the expression of MALAT1 and ALOX5 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from BPD neonates, hyperoxia-induced rat models and lung epithelial cell lines. Interestingly, we found upregulated expression of MALAT1 and ALOX5 in the experimental groups, along with upregulated expression of proinflammatory cytokines.
