Article Synopsis
  • Apo-A4 is being studied as a potential biomarker for diagnosing depression due to its harmful effects on the nervous system.
  • The research introduces a novel DNA-based strategy for quantifying Apo-A4 using a bipedal DNA walker that utilizes rolling circle amplification (RCA) triggered by the binding of poly adenine to silver nanoparticles (AgNPs).
  • This method offers a label-free approach with high sensitivity, enabling the detection of Apo-A4 across a wide range of concentrations (0.001 to 100 ng mL) and a detection limit as low as 0.46 pg mL, making it useful for various bioanalytical applications.

Electronic address:

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a malignant tumor with extremely high mortality. Uroplakin1B (UPK1B) promotes the occurrence and development of multiple types of cancer by enhancing the expression of c-myc and Sox4. However, whether UPK1B can modulate the development of NSCLC by regulating c-myc/Sox4 axis is unclear.

Recent evidence has highlighted the involvement of microRNAs (miRs) in hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (PH), which can be induced under hypoxic conditions. We intend to explore whether the miR-328a-5p/PIN1 axis affects hypoxic PH by regulating the GSK3β/β-catenin signaling pathway. The GEO database was retrieved to single out key miRs affecting hypoxic PH.

  • The study investigates the clinical characteristics and survival outcomes of esophageal adenosquamous carcinoma (ADSC) using data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results program, analyzing 137 patients between 2004 and 2018.
  • Findings revealed a decreasing trend in the proportion of ADSC among esophageal cancer cases over the years, with no significant survival difference between ADSC and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) but a worse prognosis compared to adenocarcinoma (ADC).
  • Results suggest that combined treatment involving surgery significantly improves survival rates for ADSC patients, with surgical resection, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy identified as strong independent prognostic factors.
