Tissue-resident memory T (T) cells are crucial components of the immune system that provide rapid, localized responses to recurrent pathogens at mucosal and epithelial barriers. Unlike circulating memory T cells, T cells are located within peripheral tissues, and they play vital roles in antiviral, antibacterial, and antitumor immunity. Their unique retention and activation mechanisms, including interactions with local epithelial cells and the expression of adhesion molecules, enable their persistence and immediate functionality in diverse tissues.

Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a life-threatening clinical syndrome with no effective treatment currently available. This study aims to investigate whether Iron-Quercetin complex (IronQ) pretreatment can enhance the therapeutic efficacy of Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in AKI and explore the underlying mechanisms.
Methods: A cisplatin-induced AKI model was established in male C57BL/6 mice, followed by the intravenous administration of 1x10ˆ6 MSCs or IronQ-pretreated MSCs (MSC).

Purpose: Differentiating primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) and glioblastoma (GBM) is crucial because their prognosis and treatment differ substantially. Manual examination of their histological characteristics is considered the golden standard in clinical diagnosis. However, this process is tedious and time-consuming and might lead to misdiagnosis caused by morphological similarity between their histology and tumor heterogeneity.

Rotator cuff injury (RCI), characterized by shoulder pain and restricted mobility, represents a subset of tendon-bone insertion injuries (TBI). In the majority of cases, surgical reconstruction of the affected tendons or ligaments is required to address the damage. However, numerous clinical failures have underscored the suboptimal outcomes associated with such procedures.

Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a prevalent cerebrovascular condition associated with a high mortality rate, frequently results in neuronal apoptosis and an unfavorable prognosis. The adjunctive use of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with surgical interventions exerts a therapeutic impact on SAH, potentially by facilitating apoptosis. However, the mechanism by which TCM mediates apoptosis following SAH remains unclear.

Objectives: Drug-loaded mucoadhesive silk fibroin (SF) microneedle patch can overcome the limitations of low bioavailability and significant pain associated with traditional treatment methods, such as topical application or injection of triamcinolone for oral submucous fibrosis (OSF). However, these systems release the drug too quickly, failing to meet the clinical requirements. This study aims to construct a mucoadhesive SF microneedle patch pre-assembled with silk fibroin nanospheres (SFN) and explore its ability to sustain the release of triamcinolone in the treatment of OSF.

Aging is a complex biological process that involves the gradual decline of cellular, tissue, and organ functions. In kidney, aging manifests as tubular atrophy, glomerulosclerosis, and progressive renal function decline. The critical role of senescence-associated macrophage in diseases, particularly kidney diseases, is increasingly recognized.

Background: There are differences in the extent of excision of articular processes, spinal processes and posterior ligamentum complexes (PLC) for posterior approach lumbar interbody fusion. Given that the biomechanical significance of these structures has been verified and that deterioration of the biomechanical environment is the main trigger for complications in both fused and adjacent motion segments, changes in decompression ranges may affect the potential risk of adjacent segmental disease (ASD) biomechanically; however, this topic has yet to be identified.
Methods: Posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) with different decompression strategies was simulated in a well-validated lumbosacral model.
Background: Intervertebral disc degeneration disease (IVDD) is a prevalent orthopedic condition that causes chronic lower back pain, imposing a substantial economic burden on patients and society. Despite its high incidence, the pathophysiological mechanisms of IVDD remain incompletely understood.
Objective: This study aimed to identify metabolomic alterations in IVDD patients and explore the key metabolic pathways and metabolites involved in its pathogenesis.

Liver fibrosis, one of the main histological determinants of various chronic liver diseases, currently lacks effective treatment. Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) are pivotal in the production of extracellular matrix and amplify the fibrogenic response. Inhibiting the activation of HSCs or promoting the senescence of activated HSCs is crucial for the regression of liver fibrosis.

Background: This study aims to delineate the global, regional, and national burden of malignant neoplasms of bone and articular cartilage (MNBAC) among individuals aged 65 years and older from 1990 to 2021, stratified by age, sex, and sociodemographic index (SDI).
Methods: We harnessed data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021 to evaluate the prevalence, incidence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) associated with MNBAC among individuals aged 65 years and older across 204 countries and territories between 1990 and 2021. The socio-demographic Index (SDI) served as a metric to examine the influence of socioeconomic development on the burden of MNBAC.

Accurate, rapid, and multiplex SNP analysis holds significant clinical value. However, the inevitable nucleic acid extraction, involving centrifugation, heating, and magnetic separation, is often time-consuming. In this study, direct blood PCR was combined with dual-labelled probe-mediated melting curves to identify SNPs corresponding to MTHFR (C677T, rs#1801133 and A1298C, rs#1801131) and MTRR (A66G, rs#1801394) in a single tube.

This review explores how RES modulates mitophagy-the selective autophagic degradation of mitochondria essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis. RES promotes the initiation and execution of mitophagy by enhancing PINK1/Parkin-mediated mitochondrial clearance, reducing reactive oxygen species production, and mitigating apoptosis, thereby preserving mitochondrial integrity.

Objective: Hirudin has shown potential in promoting angiogenesis and providing neuroprotection in ischemic stroke; however, its therapeutic role in promoting cerebrovascular angiogenesis remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to investigate whether hirudin exerts neuroprotective effects by promoting angiogenesis through the regulation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.
Methods: An in vitro model of glucose and oxygen deprivation/reperfusion (OGD/R) was established using rat brain microvascular endothelial cells (BMECs).
