Introduction: Previous studies have predominantly explored the relationship of the glymphatic system with motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease (PD); however, research on non-motor symptoms remains limited. Therefore, this study investigated the association between glymphatic function and non-motor symptoms, including cognitive impairment and sleep disorders, in PD patients.
Methods: This study recruited 49 PD patients and 38 healthy controls (HC).

Abstract-Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a severe gastrointestinal disease in neonates, and effective strategies to prevent and treat NEC are still lacking. Studies have shown that N-acetylcysteine (NAC) has protective effects against NEC, however, the specific mechanism underlying its effects on intestinal functions remains unclear. Recently, NAC has been shown to suppress ferroptosis in many diseases, while it is unclear whether the beneficial effects of NAC on NEC are related to ferroptosis.

3-chloro-1,2-propanediol (3-MCPD) is a newly discovered food process pollutant with nephrotoxicity. And the mechanism by which 3-MCPD affects male spermatogenesis has not been fully studied. Cell viability, blood-testis barrier (BTB) related protein, progesterone content, reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, and cell apoptosis were determined by a CCK8 assay, western blot, ELISA, flow cytometry, and TUNEL staining, respectively.

Objective To explore the effects of aloperine (Alo) on cigarette smoke-induced injury in human bronchial epithelial cells and its potential mechanism. Methods After human bronchial epithelial 16HBE cells were co-treated by 100 mL/L cigarette smoke extract (CSE) and various concentrations (50,100 and 200 μmol/L) of Alo, cell viability was assessed using CCK-8 assay. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity was measured with a related kit.

To investigate the role and related mechanism of the highly expressed circular RNA molecule 103124 (hsa_circRNA_103124) in macrophage differentiation, pyroptosis and inflammation in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of patients with active Crohn's disease (CD). Patients with active CD (CD group) admitted to the Affiliated Suzhou Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from April to September 2018 and healthy people (control group) from the physical examination center of the hospital from July to October 2018 were retrospectively selected. The levels of hsa_circRNA_103124 and Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) in PBMC of the two groups were detected by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR).

Objective: Accumulating evidence shows that cognitive impairment (CI) in chronic heart failure (CHF) patients is related to brain network dysfunction. This study investigated brain network structure and rich-club organization in chronic heart failure patients with cognitive impairment based on graph analysis of diffusion tensor imaging data.
Methods: The brain structure networks of 30 CHF patients without CI and 30 CHF patients with CI were constructed.

Objective: To investigate the changes of brain network in epilepsy patients without intracranial lesions under resting conditions.
Methods: Twenty-six non-lesional epileptic patients and 42 normal controls were enrolled for BOLD-fMRI examination. The differences in brain network topological characteristics and functional network connectivity between the epilepsy group and the healthy controls were compared using graph theory analysis and independent component analysis.

Objective: We aimed to construct the ferritin autophagy regulatory network and illustrate its mechanism in ferroptosis, TME immunity and malignant phenotypes of ovarian cancer.
Methods: First, we used Western blot assays and immunohistochemistry to detect the pathway expression in ovarian cancer samples (C-MYC, NCOA4). Then, we performed RIP and FISH analysis to verify the targeted binding of these factors after which we constructed ovarian cancer cell models and detected pathway regulator expression (NCOA4).

The application of metal nanoparticles (MNPs) as sensitization materials is a common strategy that is used to study dose enhancement in radiotherapy. Recent tests have revealed that magnetic gold nanoparticles (NPs) can be used in cancer therapy under a magnetic field to enhance the synergistic efficiency in radiotherapy and photothermal therapy. However, magnetic gold NPs have rarely been studied as sensitization materials.

Background: AMPK has attracted widespread interest as a potential therapeutic target for age-related diseases, given its key role in controlling energy homeostasis. Metformin (Met) has historically been used to treat Type 2 diabetes and has been shown to counteract age-related diseases. However, studies regarding the relationship between Met and a variety of age-related classifications of cognitive decline have reported mixed findings.

Epilepsy, one of the most common neurological diseases with spontaneous recurrent seizures, is a severe health problem globally. The present study aimed to study the role and upstream mechanism of 26S proteasome non-ATPase regulatory subunit 11 (Psmd11) in epilepsy. In the current paper, epileptic mice models were successfully established.

The single and/or combination use of immune checkpoint blockade therapies in human infectious diseases and cancer are rapidly expanding. Despite early efforts, substantial uncertainty remains about the safety and efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade in some populations. Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4) and T-cell immunoglobulin mucin-3 (Tim-3) are the major targetable co-inhibitory receptors on T cells.

Dysfunctions in interaction are highly linked to some pregnancy complications, such as recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA), pre-eclampsia and fetal growth restriction. Hyaluronan (HA), the most abundant component of extracellular matrix, has been reported to act as both a pro- and an anti-inflammatory molecule.

Current researches have determined the significance of C-C chemokine receptor (CCR)6 expression as either a marker of T helper cells (Th) or an effector and regulator of T cell function. However, the roles of CCR6 in the pathogenesis of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) are unclear. In this study, we aimed to investigate the phenotype and functional characteristics of circulating CCR6 T cells in blood from chronic ITP patients and healthy controls.

CD72 is a co-receptor of B cells and regulates B cell activation. Although aberrant expression of CD72 has been reported in primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), it is uncertain whether this aberrant expression is restricted to specific B cell subsets. Furthermore, the mechanisms that regulate CD72 expression are unknown.
