The titanium implant surface topography optimization for improving osseointegration has been performed for many years, whereas understanding the mechanisms of topography-induced osteogenic differentiation is still insufficient. In this study, the micro/nano-textured topography was created on titanium implant surface by acid etching and anodization. The MC3T3-E1 cells were incubated with different surfaces and the RNA sequencing technique was performed to obtain the transcriptomic information, which suggested the enrichment at "membrane" and "organelle" (GO) as well as "Calcium signal pathway" (KEGG).

Research on the biological role of exosomes is rapidly developing, and recent evidence suggests that exosomal effects involve ferroptosis. Exosomes derived from different tissues inhibit ferroptosis, which increases tumour cell chemoresistance. Therefore, exosome-mediated regulation of ferroptosis may be leveraged to design anticancer drugs.

The significant clinical feature of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) is the exposure of the necrotic jaw. Other clinical manifestations include jaw pain, swelling, abscess, and skin fistula, which seriously affect the patients' life, and there is no radical cure. Thus, new methods need to be found to prevent the occurrence of BRONJ.

Purpose: To evaluate a novel method and computed tomography angiography (CTA) for locating anterolateral thigh flap (ALTF) perforators to design individualized ALTFs to reconstruct maxillofacial soft tissue defects.
Study Design: This study comprised a group of 36 patients (CTA group) with malignant oral and maxillofacial tumors who underwent CTA and who received individualized ALTFs and a group of 28 patients (control group) with the same condition but without preoperative CTA examination and with nonindividualized ALTFs. ALTFs in the CTA group were designed and harvested using the locating device and CTA, whereas ALTFs in the control group were designed and harvested according to each surgeon's experience.

, a keystone periodontal pathogen, has emerged as a risk factor for systemic chronic diseases, including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). To clarify the mechanism by which this pathogen induces such diseases, we simultaneously analyzed the transcriptome of intracellular and infected host cells dual RNA sequencing. Pathway analysis was also performed to determine the differentially expressed genes in the infected cells.

Purpose: This study aimed to determine the expression profiles of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), microRNA (miRNA), and mRNA in chemotherapy-resistant B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL).
Methods: LncRNA, miRNA, and mRNA profiles were assessed by RNA-seq in diagnostic bone marrow samples from 6 chemotherapy-resistant and 6 chemotherapy-sensitive B-ALL patients. The lncRNA DUXAP8/miR-29a/ signaling network was identified as the most dysregulated in chemoresistant patient samples, and its effect on cellular phenotypes, PI3K-AKT-mTOR signaling, and chemosensitivity of doxorubicin (Dox)-resistant Nalm-6 (N6/ADR), and Dox-resistant 697 (697/ADR) cells were assessed.

Objectives: Bone tissue engineering based on adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) is expected to become a new treatment for diabetic osteoporosis (DOP) patients with bone defects. However, compared with control ASCs (CON-ASCs), osteogenic potential of DOP-ASCs is decreased, which increased the difficulty of bone reconstruction in DOP patients. Moreover, the cause of the poor osteogenesis of ASCs in a hyperglycemic microenvironment has not been elucidated.

Gliomas are the most prevalent form of primary malignant brain tumor, which currently have no effective treatments. Evidence from human studies has indicated that oral microbiota is closely related to cancers; however, whether oral microbiota plays a role in glioma malignancy remains unclear. The present study aimed to investigate the association between oral microbiota and grade of glioma and examine the relationship between malignancy-related oral microbial features and the isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) mutation in glioma.

The incidence and morbidity of diabetes osteoporosis (DOP) are increasing with each passing year. Patients with DOP have a higher risk of bone fracture and poor healing of bone defects, which make a poor quality of their life. Bone tissue engineering based on autologous adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) transplantation develops as an effective technique to achieve tissue regeneration for patients with bone defects.

Background: The osteogenic differentiation ability of adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) is attenuated in type 2 diabetic osteoporosis (Dop) mice. Several studies suggest autophagy and Notch signaling pathway play vital roles in cell proliferation, differentiation, and osteogenesis. However, the mechanisms of autophagy and Notch signaling in the osteogenic differentiation of Dop ASCs were unclear.

Background: The biomedical field has used gold nanorods (GNRs) for decades; however, clinical trials and translation is limited except gold nanoshells. The preparation of gold nanoshells is more complex than that of polyethylene glycol-modified GNRs (PEG-GNRs), and it is difficult to ensure uniform thickness. It is important to encourage and broaden the use of the star member (PEG-GNRs) of gold nanoparticles family for clinical translation.

Epigenetics mainly refers to covalent modifications to DNA or histones without affecting genomes, which ultimately lead to phenotypic changes in cells or organisms. Given the abundance of regulatory targets in epigenetic pathways and their pivotal roles in tumorigenesis and drug resistance, the development of epigenetic drugs holds a great promise for the current cancer therapy. However, lack of potent, selective, and clinically tractable small-molecule compounds makes the strategy to target cancer epigenetic pathways still challenging.

Objective: Although it has been demonstrated that adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) from osteoporotic mice (OP-ASCs) exhibited impaired osteogenic differentiation potential, the molecular mechanism has not yet been elucidated. We found that Fzd6 was decreased in OP-ASCs compared with ASCs. This study investigates effects and underlying mechanisms of Fzd6 in the osteogenic potential of OP-ASCs, and explores methods to enhance osteogenic capacity of OP-ASCs.
