Background: Teratoma is a common tumor, but rarely occurs in the parotid region. Only nine cases have been reported in the current literature. Although it is generally detected in infancy or childhood, it is commonly asymptomatic.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the time lapse between the endodontic and periodontal treatments of the combined periodontal-endodontic lesion to guide the clinical treatment.

Methods: A systemic literature search was performed in articles published from 1980 to March 2017 using the electronic databases, including PubMed, EMbase, Cochrane, Web of Science, CNKI, CBM, and Wanfang Databases.

Results: After screening, two randomized controlled trials, two prospective case series studies, and eight case reports were ultimately included.

Objective: To investigate the root length of posterior teeth after palatal expansion by magnetic expansion appliance.

Methods: A total of 32 patients who accepted palatal expansion with magnetic expansion appliance were enrolled in the study. Pretreatment and post-treatment cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images were obtained.

In this study, we obtained the TiO2 films with different thickness by micro-are oxidation (MAO) on commercially available pure titanium. By altering the duration time, we got the films 5 microm, 10 microm, and 20 microm in thickness, respectively. XRD and SEM were employed to characterize the phase, composition and microstructure of the films.

Growth inhibition of a tongue squamous cell carcinoma cell line (Tca8113) in vitro and in vivo via siRNA-mediated down-regulation of skp2.

Human S-phase kinase-associated protein (skp) 2, the specific ubiquitin ligase subunit that targets the negative regulator p27(Kip1) of the cell cycle and brings about its degradation, is overexpressed in various cancers, including human oral squamous cell carcinomas; its expression levels are inversely related to those of p27(Kip1) in these cells. Recently, a technique known as RNA interference (RNAi) has successfully been applied to mammalian cells. In order to evaluate the applications of the RNAi strategy for cancer gene therapy, the authors treated Tca8113 cells expressing high levels of Skp2 with a small interfering RNA (siRNA) expression plasmid vector targeting skp2 in vitro and in vivo.

Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, The Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Medical School, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210008, China.

Objective: To compare the mandibular indices differences between periodontitis and non-periodontitis subjects by digital panoramic tomograms in order to find a simple and effective method to evaluate the density of alveolar bone and study the relativity between local bone loss and systemic bone loss.

Methods: Standard digital panoramic tomograms of sixty periodontitis subjects and sixty non-periodontitis subjects were taken. Density and height cortical width (CW) and panoramic mandibular index (PMI) of alveolar bone were measured on the digital panoramic tomograms.
