The comorbidity between cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and schizophrenia (SCZ) has attracted widespread attention from researchers, with shared genetic causes potentially providing important insights into their association. This study conducted a comprehensive analysis of genetic data from 17 types of CVD and SCZ using genome-wide multi-trait association studies (GWAS), employing statistical methods such as LDSC, MTAG, LAVA, and bidirectional Mendelian randomization to explore global and local genetic correlations and identify pleiotropic single nucleotide variants (SNVs). The analysis revealed a significant genetic correlation between CVD and SCZ, identifying 842 potential pleiotropic single nucleotide variants (SNVs) and multiple associated biological pathways.

Background And Aims: Electrical stimulation (ES) has been shown to substantially enhance the quality of life by alleviating pain in patients with chronic wounds. This study aimed to observe the effects of low-frequency pulsed wearable ES at the common peroneal nerve on chronic refractory wounds of the lower limb.
Methods: Forty-eight participants were randomly divided into control group ( = 24) and treatment group ( = 24) in this study.
This study offers insights into the genetic and biological connections between nine common metabolic diseases using data from genome-wide association studies. Our goal is to unravel the genetic interactions and biological pathways of these complex diseases, enhancing our understanding of their genetic architecture. We employed a range of advanced analytical techniques to explore the genetic correlations and shared genetic variants of these diseases.

Background: Ginseng polysaccharide (GPS) is an ingredient of ginseng with documented anti-tumor properties. However, its effect on colon cancer and the underlying molecular mechanisms have not been investigated clearly.
Methods: Cell viability of HT29 and CT26 cells treated with different concentrations of GPS was assessed using the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assay.

Recent focus on inflammation in ALS pathogenesis prompts this investigation into the genetic correlation and potential causal relationships between circulating inflammatory proteins and ALS.
Methods: Genome-wide association study (GWAS) data encompassing 91 circulating inflammatory protein measures from 14,824 individuals of European ancestry, alongside records from 27,205 ALS cases and 110,881 controls, were employed.

Background: Molecular subtyping is expected to enable precise treatment. However, reliable subtyping strategies for clinical application remains defective and controversial. Given the significance of tumor immune dysfunction and exclusion (TIDE), we aimed to develop a novel TIDE-based subtyping strategy to guide personalized immunotherapy in the bladder cancer (BC).

Background: Given the complex etiology, multidimensional impact, and widespread prevalence of low back pain (LBP), it is crucial to prioritize intervention targets based on understanding the relationships between functional impairments in patients. This prioritization maximizes the physical and psychological benefits for patients, and graph modeling holds promise in achieving these objectives.
Aim: The aim of this study was establishing a graphical model of functioning variables for LBP based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) to identify the most influential items (i.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common clinical condition that mainly affects men aged over 40 years. Various causes contribute to the progression of ED, including pelvic nerve injury, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, age, Peyronie's disease, smoking, and psychological disorders. Current treatments for ED are limited to symptom relief and do not address the root cause.

The Postural Instability/Gait Difficulty (PIGD) subtype of Parkinson's disease (PD) has a faster disease progression, a higher risk of cognitive and motor decline, yet the alterations of structural topological organization remain unknown. Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) and 3D-TI scanning were conducted on 31 PD patients with PIGD (PD-PIGD), 30 PD patients without PIGD (PD-non-PIGD) and 35 Healthy Controls (HCs). Structural networks were constructed using DTI brain white matter fiber tractography.

In recent years, exosomes derived from bone mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) have emerged as a promising cell-free therapeutic approach for treating ischemic brain injury and other inflammatory conditions. Macrophage/microglial pyroptosis has been identified as a contributing factor to neuroinflammation following SCI.

Increasing evidence has demonstrated that cancer cell metabolism is a critical factor in tumor development and progression; however, its role in glioblastoma (GBM) remains limited. In the present study, we classified GBM into three metabolism subtypes (MC1, MC2, and MC3) through cluster analysis of 153 GBM samples from the RNA-sequencing data of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) based on 2752 metabolism-related genes (MRGs). We further explored the prognostic value, metabolic signatures, immune infiltration, and immunotherapy sensitivity of the three metabolism subtypes.

Background: Immune-related enhancer RNAs (eRNAs) have garnered significant attention in cancer metabolism research, yet their specific roles in ccRCC have remained elusive.
Methods: We retrieved eRNA expression profiles from TCGA database and identified immune-related eRNAs (IREs) by assessing their co-expression with immune genes. Utilizing consensus clustering, we organized these IREs into two distinct clusters.
