The study explored the diagnostic value of SNHG5 in diabetic nephropathy (DN) and investigated the role and mechanism on DN via establishing the in vitro HK2 cell model. This study recruited 62 types 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients, 58 DN patients and 60 healthy controls (HC). The expressions of serum SNHG5 and miR-26a-5p were measured by RT-qPCR analysis.

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI) is a model of clinical serious care syndrome, with high morbidity and mortality. Tacrolimus (TAC), a novel immunosuppressant that inhibits inflammatory response, plays a pivotal role in kidney diseases. In this study, LPS treated mice and cultured podocytes were used as the models of SA-AKI in vivo and in vitro, respectively.

Avasimibe is a bioavailable acetyl-CoA acetyltransferase (ACAT) inhibitor and shows a good antitumor effect in various human solid tumors, but its therapeutic value in cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) and underlying mechanisms are largely unknown. In the study, we proved that avasimibe retard cell proliferation and tumor growth of CCAs and identified FoxM1/AKR1C1 axis as the potential novel targets of avasimibe. Aldo-keto reductase 1 family member C1 (AKR1C1) is gradually increased along with the disease progression and highly expressed in human CCAs.

Background: Early acute kidney injury (AKI) predicts a high mortality rate in severely burned patients. However, the pathophysiology of early AKI induced by severe burn has not been well-defined. This study was designed to examine the protective effects of calcium dobesilate (CaD) against severe burn-induced early AKI in mice and explore the mechanism.

Intestinal mucosal injuries are directly or indirectly related to many common acute and chronic diseases. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are expressed in many diseases, including intestinal mucosal injury. However, the relationship between lncRNAs and intestinal mucosal injury has not been determined.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are common in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients, and vascular calcification is associated with the incidence of CVD. Malnourished MHD patients are particularly prone to CVD events. Thus far, there is no clear explanation for the relationship of nutrition status with vascular calcification; therefore, we investigated the relationship between malnutrition and vascular calcification.

The intestine is considered the key organ in stress response to severe burns and injury to the intestine after severe burns can be fatal. However, the injury and subsequent repair of intestinal tissues after severe burns at the genetic level are poorly understood. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have important functions in regulating many biological processes, including gene transcription and translation.

Intestinal mucosal injury is one of the most significant complications of burns. In our previous study, it was found that autophagy could alleviate burn-induced intestinal injury, but the underlying mechanisms are still unclear. Irregular expression of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) is present in many diseases, including burns.

Circular RNA (circRNA) is a novel noncoding RNA that is mostly found in humans and animals. Although the flux of circRNA research has increased in recent years, its precise function is still unclear. Some studies demonstrate that circRNAs can function as microRNA (miRNA) sponges involved in the regulation of competitive endogenous RNAs networks and play a crucial role in many biological processes.

A targeted ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) method was established and validated for the simultaneous determination of 34 amino acids in tissue samples from colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. The chromatographic separation was achieved on an Agilent ZORBAX SB-C column (3.0 × 150 mm, 5 m) with a binary gradient elution system (A, 0.

To investigate the regulation of epidermal growth factor (EGF) by autophagy-mediated long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) H19 in the intestinal tracts of severely burned mice. C57BL/6J mice received third-degree burns to 30% of the total body surface area. Rapamycin and 3-methyladenine (3-MA) were used to activate and inhibit autophagy, and the changes in LC3 and Beclin1 levels were assessed by Western blotting.
