Eltrombopag combined with immunosuppressive therapy (IST) was superior to IST alone for severe aplastic anemia (SAA) in the previous studies. But in China, horse antithymocyte globulin (hATG) is not available, instead, we use rabbit ATG (rATG). Here, we compared the efficacy and safety of IST (rATG combined with cyclosporine) combined with or without eltrombopag for the first-line treatment of SAA and very severe aplastic anemia (VSAA).

Although magnesium alloy has received tremendous attention in biodegradable cardiovascular stents, the poor in vivo corrosion resistance and limited endothelialization are still the bottlenecks for its application in cardiovascular stents. Fabrication of the multifunctional bioactive coating with excellent anti-corrosion on the surface is beneficial for rapid re-endothelialization and the normal physiological function recovery of blood vessels. In the present study, a bioactive hydrogel coating was established on the surface of magnesium alloy by copolymerization of sulfobetaine methacrylate (SBMA) and acrylamide (AM) via ultraviolet (UV) polymerization, followed by the immobilization of fucoidan (Fu).

Radiotherapy, despite its precision and non-invasiveness, often fails due to the resistance of cancer stem cells (CSCs), which are characterized by high self-renewal capabilities and superior DNA repair mechanisms. These cells can evade RT and lead to tumor recurrence and metastasis. To address this challenge, a novel delivery system named PB has been introduced.

The development of intelligent, environmentally responsive and biocompatible photothermal system holds significant importance for the photothermal combined therapy of tumors. In this study, inspired by Lactobacillus (LAC), we prepared a biomimetic nanoplatform PDA&DOX@LAC for tumor photothermal-chemotherapy by integrating the chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin (DOX) with dopamine through oxidative polymerization to form polydopamine (PDA) on the surface of LAC. The PDA&DOX@LAC nanoplatform not only achieves precise and controlled release of DOX based on the slightly acidic microenvironment of tumor tissues, but also exhibits enzyme-like properties to alleviate tumor hypoxia.

Background: Tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factors family genes play a pivotal role in tumorigenesis and metastasis, functioning as adapters or E3 ubiquitin ligases across various signaling pathways. To date, limited research has explored the association between tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factors family genes and the clinicopathological characteristics of tumors, immunity, and the tumor microenvironment (TME). This comprehensive study investigates the relationship between tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factors family and prognosis, TME, immune response, and drug sensitivity in a pan-cancer context.

Due to its biofunctions similar to NO, the CO gas signaling molecule has gradually shown great potential in cardiovascular biomaterials for regulating the in vivo performances after the implantation and has received increasing attention. To construct a bioactive surface with CO-releasing properties on the surface of magnesium-based alloy to augment the anticorrosion and biocompatibility, graphene oxide (GO) was firstly modified using carboxymethyl chitosan (CS), and then CO-releasing molecules (CORM401) were introduced to synthesize a novel biocompatible nanomaterial (GOCS-CO) that can release CO in the physiological environments. The GOCS-CO was further immobilized on the magnesium alloy surface modified by polydopamine coating with Zn (PDA/Zn) to create a bioactive surface capable of releasing CO in the physiological environment.

Tumor vaccine, which can effectively prevent tumor recurrence and metastasis, is a promising tool in tumor immunotherapy. However, heterogeneity of tumors and the inability to achieve a cascade effect limit the therapeutic effects of most developing tumor vaccine. We have developed a cascading immunoinducible in-situ mannose-functionalized polydopamine loaded with imiquimod phenylboronic hyaluronic acid nanocomposite gel vaccine (M/P-PDA@IQ PHA) through a boronic ester-based reaction.
