Research indicates that sleep problem is a behavioral risk factor of obesity. However, few research have applied a multi-dimensional approach to investigate the relationship between sleep health and adiposity. Therefore, the current study aimed to examine the associations of sleep characteristics (duration, quality) and chronotype with overweight/obesity as measured by body mass index.

Prenatal two-and three-dimensional echocardiographic diagnosis of ductal anomalous origin of the left pulmonary artery: Case report and literature review.

Although the ductal anomalous origin of the pulmonary artery (DOPA) constitutes a rare heart anomaly, this malformation has a high mortality rate due to the rapid development of pulmonary hypertension(PTH) and right heart failure. Case Presentation: We report a case of DOPA, in which ductus arteriosus originated from the left pulmonary artery. This article summarizes the embryogenesis, clinical manifestations, complications and prognosis, diagnosis and experience, and treatment strategies of DOPA.

Using elastography-based multilayer perceptron model to evaluate renal fibrosis in chronic kidney disease.

Background: Given its progressive deterioration in the clinical course, noninvasive assessment and risk stratification for the severity of renal fibrosis in chronic kidney disease (CKD) are required. We aimed to develop and validate an end-to-end multilayer perceptron (MLP) model for assessing renal fibrosis in CKD patients based on real-time two-dimensional shear wave elastography (2D-SWE) and clinical variables.

Methods: From April 2019 to December 2021, a total of 162 patients with CKD who underwent a kidney biopsy and 2D-SWE examination were included in this single-center, cross-sectional, and prospective clinical study.

Rationale And Objectives: Accurate identification of risk information about fibrosis severity is crucial for clinical decision-making and clinical management of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). This study aimed to develop an ultrasound (US)-derived computer-aided diagnosis tool for identifying CKD patients at high risk of developing moderate-severe renal fibrosis, in order to optimize treatment regimens and follow-up strategies.

Materials And Methods: A total of 162 CKD patients undergoing renal biopsies and US examinations were prospectively enrolled and randomly divided into training (n = 114) and validation (n = 48) cohorts.

However, they are relatively rare in patients who are immunocompetent, which is especially useful in ruling out near-drowning and aspiration situations. Here, we report a case of a patient who is immunocompetent, with clinically suspected community-acquired pneumonia caused by Lomentospora prolificans detected by metagenomics next-generation sequencing (mNGS) and polymerase chain reaction from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid.

Our previous study reported that seminaturally occurring arthrocolins A to C with unprecedented carbon skeletons could restore the antifungal activity of fluconazole against fluconazole-resistant Candida albicans. Here, we showed that arthrocolins synergized with fluconazole, reducing the fluconazole minimum and dramatically augmenting the survivals of 293T human cells and nematode Caenorhabditis elegans infected with fluconazole-resistant C. albicans.
