Effective repair of large bone defects through bone tissue engineering (BTE) remains an unmet clinical challenge. Successful BTE requires optimal and synergistic interactions among biocompatible scaffolds, osteogenic factors, and osteoprogenitors to form a highly vascularized microenvironment for bone regeneration and osseointegration. We sought to develop a highly effective BTE system by using 3D printed citrate-based mPOC/hydroxyapatite (HA) composites laden with BMP9-stimulated human urine stem cells (USCs).

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is characterized by the autoimmune destruction of pancreatic beta cells, leading to absolute insulin deficiency and the need for exogenous insulin. A significant concern in T1D management is hypoglycemia, which is worsened by impaired counterregulatory mechanisms. Effective counterregulation involves hormones such as glucagon and adrenaline, which work to restore normal blood glucose levels.

Introduction: Ischemic stroke is a major global health issue, with active smoking identified as a key modifiable risk factor. This study examines the burden of ischemic stroke due to active smoking from 1990 to 2021, across different sociodemographic contexts.
Methods: Data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021 database were used to extract information on mortality and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) attributable to active smoking-related ischemic stroke.

Branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) is the most prevalent retinal vascular disease that constitutes a threat to vision due to increased venous pressure caused by venous effluent in the space, leading to impaired visual function. Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) is an innovative non-invasive technique that offers high-resolution three-dimensional structures of retinal blood vessels. Most publicly available datasets are collected from single visits with different patients, encompassing various eye diseases for distinct tasks and areas.

A range of sleep disorders has the potential to adversely affect cognitive function. This study was undertaken with the objective of investigating the effects of ozone rectal insufflation (O3-RI) on cognitive dysfunction induced by chronic REM sleep deprivation, as well as elucidating possible underlying mechanisms. O3-RI ameliorated cognitive dysfunction in chronic REM sleep deprived mice, improved the neuronal damage in the hippocampus region and decreased neuronal loss.

Background: At present, liver transplantation (LT) is one of the best treatments for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Accurately predicting the survival status after LT can significantly improve the survival rate after LT, and ensure the best way to make rational use of liver organs.
Aim: To develop a model for predicting prognosis after LT in patients with HCC.

Background: Ischemic colitis (IC) is also known as colon ischemia and is caused by colon vascular occlusion or nonocclusion, which results in a reduced blood supply to the colon and is not significant enough to maintain the metabolic function of cells, leading to intestinal wall ischemia. Its main symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, and bloody stool. In severe cases, intestinal gangrene, peritonitis, intestinal stenosis and even intestinal obstruction may occur.
