Ovarian pregnancy rupture following ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination: A case report.

Background: Ovarian pregnancy after assisted reproductive technology treatment has rarely been reported; ovarian pregnancy following intrauterine insemination (IUI) is even rarer, and only nine cases have previously been reported.

Case Summary: We report a case of ovarian pregnancy rupture after ovulation induction and IUI. The patient presented with bilateral lower abdominal pain and was referred to the emergency department.

Background: Caveolin-1 (CAV1) in cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) has pro- or anti-tumourigenic effect depending on the cancer type. However, its effect in intrahepatic carcinoma (ICC) remains unknown. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between CAV1 in CAFs and tumour-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) numbers or PD-L1 levels in ICC patients.

Combined prognostic nutritional index and albumin-bilirubin grade to predict the postoperative prognosis of HBV-associated hepatocellular carcinoma patients.

This study aims to evaluate the predictive value of the prognostic nutritional index (PNI) and albumin-bilirubin grade (ALBI) for the postoperative prognosis of hepatitis B virus-associated hepatocellular carcinoma (HBV-HCC) patients undergoing radical hepatectomy (RH). Besides, we seek to identify novel prognosis indicators for HBV-HCC patients. Between April 2009 and March 2015, this work enrolled 868 patients diagnosed with HBV-HCC and undergoing RH in the Liver Surgery Department, West China Hospital, Sichuan University (WCHSU).

A hypoxic and acidic tumor microenvironment (TME) plays a significant role in cancer development through complex cellular signaling networks, and it is thus challenging to completely eradicate tumors monotherapy. Here, PEGylated CoFeO nanoflowers (CFP) with multiple enzymatic activities, serving as bioreactors responsive to TME cues, were synthesized a typical solvothermal method for augmented sonodynamic therapy (SDT) and chemodynamic therapy (CDT) with elicitation of robust immune response. The CFP occupying multivalent elements (Co, Fe) exhibited strong Fenton-like and catalase-like activity.

Early Hospital Arrival After Acute Ischemic Stroke Is Associated With Family Members' Knowledge About Stroke.

Prehospital delay is the major factor limiting intravenous thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke (AIS). This study aimed to: (1) identify factors related to prehospital delay and (2) determine the impact of recognition and behavior of family members on patient delay. A cross-sectional, multicenter study was conducted at six teaching hospitals in China between December 1, 2018 and November 30, 2019.

A meta-analysis and systematic review of intracranial pressure monitoring on severe craniocerebral injury.

Background: A meta-analysis was carried out to study the effect of intracranial pressure monitoring on the prognosis of severe craniocerebral injury and to provide reference for treating craniocerebral diseases.

Methods: A Boolean logic search method was adopted, and "intracranial pressure monitoring", "craniocerebral injury", "prognosis", and "brain injury" were set as search terms. The literature searched included PubMed, Medline, and the China National Knowledge Internet (CNKI), and literature that set non-intracranial pressure monitoring as a control for comparative research was screened.

Sliding window method is widely used to study the functional connectivity dynamics in brain networks. A key issue of this method is how to choose the window length and number of clusters across different window length. Here, we introduced a universal method to determine the optimal window length and number of clusters and applied it to study the dynamic functional network connectivity (FNC) in major depressive disorder (MDD).

[Progress in the clinical application and correlation between glucose transporter-1 and F-FDG PET/CT imaging for non-small cell lung cancer].

Because of the unobvious early symptoms and low 5-year survival rate, the early diagnosis and treatment is of great significance for patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Glucose transporter-1 is the most widely distributed glucose transporters in various tissue cells in the human body, whose expression in non-small cell lung cancer is closely related to the histological types, lymph node metastasis, degree of differentiation, progression and prognosis. F-FDG PET/CT imaging, a molecular imaging diagnostic method, is based on the characteristics of glucose metabolism in malignant tumors, which has been widely applied in the cancer diagnosis, stage division, evaluation of therapeutic effects and prognosis evaluation.

Colon cancer stem cells (CCSCs) play an important role in facilitating colon cancer occurrence, metastasis and drug resistance. The results of our previous studies confirmed that the well-studied antioxidant gene peroxiredoxin-2 (PRDX2) promotes colon cancer progression. However, the underlying function and mechanisms associated with PRDX2 remodeling in the context of CCSCs have remained poorly studied.

Background: Pneumocystis pneumonia (PCP) has a significant impact on the mortality of immunocompromised patients. It is not known whether the prophylactic application of trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMZ) can reduce the incidence of PCP and mortality in the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-negative immunodeficient population. The safety profile is also unknown.

Background: The sonographic appearance in intrahepatic space-occupying lesions under the background of fatty liver is atypical. This study aimed to explore the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) in the differential diagnosis of intrahepatic space-occupying lesions under the background of fatty liver.

Methods: Twenty-one patients with intrahepatic space-occupying lesions under the background of fatty liver who were treated in our hospital from January 2017 to September 2020 and met the inclusion/ exclusion criteria were enrolled in this study.

Mucin 4 mutation is associated with tumor mutation burden and promotes antitumor immunity in colon cancer patients.

At present, immunotherapy is widely used for different mismatch repair (dMMR) or highly microsatellite instability (MSI-H) colorectal cancer patients, and tumor mutation burden (TMB) is a valuable independent predictor of response to immunotherapy. However, specific gene mutations and their relationship with TMB and tumor-infiltrating immune cells in colon cancer remains unclear. In the present study, we analyzed somatic mutation data of colon cancer from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) datasets, and found that 17 frequently mutated genes were occurred in both cohorts, including APC, TP53, TNN, KRAS, MUC16, MUC4 (mucin 4), SYNE1, FLG, FAT4, OBSCN, FAT3, RYR2, PIK3CA, FBXW7, DNAH11, MUC5B and ZFHX4.

Acupuncture for chronic constipation in patients with diabetes mellitus: A protocol for systematic review.

Background: Assessing the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for chronic constipation in patients with diabetes mellitus is the main purpose of this systematic review protocol.

Methods: The following electronic databases will be searched from their respective inception dates to December 1st 2020: PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Embase, World Science Net, the Allied and Complementary Medicine Database, the Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, the Chongqing VIP Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database and the Wanfang Database. All published randomized controlled trials in English or Chinese related to acupuncture for constipation in patient with diabetes mellitus will be included.

The Protective Effects of Maresin 1 in the OVA-Induced Asthma Mouse Model.

Maresin 1 (MaR1) is a specific lipid synthesized by macrophages that exhibits powerful anti-inflammatory effects in various inflammatory diseases.
