Objective: This study aims to analyze risk factors for central lymph node metastasis (CLNM) in patients with small papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).

Methods: The clinicopathologic data of 375 patients with small PTC admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University from January 2017 to December 2020 were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into two groups, namely, CLNM (n = 177) and non-CLNM (n = 198) groups.

Cell division cycle protein 20 (Cdc20) is a member of the cell cyclin family. In the early stage of mitosis, it activates the anaphase-promoting complex (APC) and forms the E3 ubiquitin ligase complex APC, which destroys key regulators of the cell cycle and promotes mitosis. Cdc20 serves as a target for the spindle checkpoint, ensuring proper chromosome segregation.

Background: Screening for epidermal growth factor receptor () mutations is the key to select suitable patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) for EGFR-TKI therapy in clinical practice. Nevertheless, tumor tissue that needed for mutation analysis is frequently unavailable, especially for patients with recurrence after operation. Therefore, detection of from circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with NSCLC is a sensitive and convenient method to direct patient sequential treatment strategy.

Article Synopsis
  • Curcumin was tested on rats with acute pancreatitis to investigate its potential therapeutic effects and mechanisms.
  • The study involved multiple groups of rats, where curcumin was shown to improve pancreatic health by reducing injury indicators like serum amylase and lipase, and by affecting cell apoptosis markers.
  • Results indicated that curcumin enhances pancreatic function through the miR-198-PI3 K-Akt signaling pathway, helping to mitigate the effects of acute pancreatitis.

Primary aldosteronism (PA) is a category of secondary hypertension induced by inhibition of the renin-angiotensin system due to increased aldosterone secretion. Aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA) is the most common hypotype of PA. Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) refers to the symptoms of increased bone resorption and increased calcium reabsorption of kidney tubules caused by parathyroid secretion and excessive synthesis of parathyroid hormone.

Ischemic heart disease (IHD) is a common clinical disease and has a younger tendency in recent years. This study focused on the role of Ulinastatin (UTI) in the anti-oxidative stress and anti-inflammatory response of cardiomyocytes. H9c2 cells were divided into control group, ischemia-anoxic group (ischemic hypoxia group) and ischemia-anoxia + UTI group (UTI group).

Sleeve Gastrectomy (SG), as the most effective bariatric surgery, has been using to chronically lose weight and control glucose metabolism in Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. However, the underlining mechanism is still unclear. In this study, we performed SG on Zucker diabetes fatty (ZDF) rat and investigated visceral lipid metabolism and energy metabolism.

Natural killer (NK) cells have exhibited promising efficacy in inhibiting cancer growth. We aimed to explorer the effect of NK cells on oxaliplatin-resistant colorectal cancer and the underlying molecular mechanism. Oxaliplatin-resistant colorectal cancer cell lines were co-cultured with NK cells to evaluate the effect on viability, proliferation, migration and invasion .

The aim of this study was to explore the influence of combination therapy in different administration time on antihypertensive efficacy and blood pressure variability in patients with essential hypertension. A total of 86 patients with stage II to III essential hypertension were randomly divided into 4 groups: taking indapamide and losartan potassium together in the morning or in the evening 2 to 4 hours before sleep, indapamide in the morning and losartan potassium in the evening, losartan potassium in the morning and indapamide in the evening. Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring was performed before and 12 weeks after the medication.

Purpose: To establish an animal model of improved donor liver position selection and revascularization for heterotopic auxiliary liver transplantation with portal vein arterialization (HALT-PVA).

Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats were utilized to establish models. Improved HALT-PVA was conducted for the experimental rat: hepatic common artery of donor liver was end-to-side anastomosed to portal vein which was end-to-side anastomosed to the left common iliac artery of host rat, while the segments of inferior vena cava superior and inferior to the donor liver were end-to-side anastomosed to the inferior vena cava of host rat, respectively.
