Article Synopsis
  • The study evaluates a new simple suture method for creating a mouse model of pancreatic cancer, aimed at improving preclinical research efficacy.
  • The new method was compared to two conventional techniques (cell injection and tumor fragment embedding) using various assessment tools like imaging and histopathology.
  • Findings indicate the suture method offers good tumor size uniformity and minimal pancreatic damage, making it the best option for studying pancreatic cancer in animal models.

Drug resistance is a major cause of treatment failure and post-treatment disease progression in patients with cancer. This study aimed to investigate the mechanisms of chemoresistance to gemcitabine (GEM) plus cisplatin (cis-diamminedichloroplatinum, DDP) combination therapy in stage IV lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). It also examined the functional role of lncRNA ASBEL and lncRNA Erbb4-IR in the malignant progression of LSCC.

Background: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder related to dyslipidemia, with decreased high-density lipoprotein (HDL). Various cell types express phospholipid transfer protein (PLTP) as well as cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP). Their elevated levels among transgenic (Tg) mice led to reduced HDL and a higher risk of atherosclerosis (AS).

Located in the uterine cervix, cervical invasive stratified mucin-producing carcinoma (i-SMILE) is a rare, recently-identified tumor about which little is known. In extremely rare cases, other kinds of invasive carcinoma can accompany i-SMILE, such as squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and adenocarcinoma, with different proportions. Here, we report a case of cervical carcinoma coexisting with i-SMILE, mucinous carcinoma, non-specific type (NOS), and SCC.
