Control over particle size and shape heterogeneity is highly relevant to the design of photonic coatings and supracolloidal assemblies. Most developments in the area have relied on mineral and petroleum-derived polymers that achieve well-defined chemical and dimensional characteristics. Unfortunately, it is challenging to attain such control when considering renewable nanoparticles.

Accumulating evidence has highlighted the importance of immune cells in the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). However, the understanding of the causal association between immunity and COPD remains incomplete due to the existence of confounding variables. In this study, we employed a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis, utilizing the genome-wide association study database, to investigate the causal association between 731 immune-cell signatures and the susceptibility to COPD from a host genetics perspective.

Hemolytic peptides can trigger hemolysis by rupturing red blood cells' membranes and triggering cell disruption. Due to the labor-intensive and time-consuming in-lab identification process, accurate, high-throughput hemolytic peptide prediction is crucial for the growth of peptide sequence data in proteomics and peptidomics. In this study, we offer the HemoDL ensemble learning model, which learns the distinct distribution of sequence characteristics for predicting the hemolytic activity of peptides using a double LightGBM framework.

Strategies targeting lin-28 homolog A (LIN28A) for the treatment of osteosarcoma are limited, even though salient findings have illustrated the crucial role of LIN28A in bone deformities and cancer. In the present study, we proved circ_0096041, one of the circular RNAs (circRNAs) with significant upregulated expression in osteosarcoma, to be notably engaged in the progression of osteosarcoma. We elucidated that osteosarcoma patients with highly expressed circ_0096041 had relatively worse prognoses.
