Hemangioma (HA), which is characterized by aberrant endothelial cell proliferation in blood vessels, is a common tumor during infancy. MicroRNAs (miRNAs/miRs) collectively participate in the development of HA; however, the potential roles of miR-195-5p in HA are not completely understood. The aim of the present study was to investigate the roles of miR-195-5p in HA.

The unfolded protein response (UPR) plays a significant role in maintaining protein hemostasis in tumor cells, which are crucial for tumor growth, invasion, and resistance to therapy. This study aimed to develop a UPR-related signature and explore its correlation with immunotherapy and chemotherapy in bladder cancer. The differentially expressed UPR-related genes were put into Lasso regression to screen out prognostic genes, which constituted the UPR signature, and were incorporated into multivariate Cox regression to generate risk scores.

The present study aimed to probe into the mechanism of p38MAPK in the failure of autogenous arteriovenous fistula (AVF) caused by stenosis. A total of 24 patients with maintenance hemodialysis and the autologous AVF as the hemodialysis route were enrolled in the present study. In the experimental group, the internal fistula operation mode was the end-to-side anastomosis, and patients were those who needed autogenous AVF repair due to the venous hyperplasia and stenosis of the internal fistula anastomosis (n = 12).

Purpose: To examine the clinical significance of unoperated cervical cancer patients treated with different neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) schemes followed by concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy (CCRT).
Methods: This retrospective analysis included women with locally advanced cervical cancer treated with NACT-CCRT between September 2011 and September 2014. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy included paclitaxel plus cisplatin (TP group; 62 patients) or paclitaxel plus loplatin (TL group; 58 patients), which were administered three weekly, and cisplatin or loplatin, which were administered weekly for synchronous chemotherapy.

Background: Aidi Injection (ADI), a Chinese herbal preparation with anti-cancer activity, is used for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Several clinical studies have shown that co-administration of ADI with doxorubicin (DOX) is associated with reduced toxicity of chemotherapy, enhanced clinical efficacy and improved quality of life for patients. However, limited information is available about the herb-drug interactions between ADI and DOX.

The incidence and mortality of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are gradually increasing during the past years. Recently, some studies have reported that malic enzyme (ME) plays an important role in cancer development, while the involvement of ME2 in HCC remains still undetermined. Here, we demonstrated that ME2 played an oncogenic role in HCC.

Growing evidence has shown that aerobic glycolysis, as a hallmark of cancer cells, plays a crucial role in cervical cancer. The aim of the study is to uncover whether fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase 2 (FBP2) is involved in cervical cancer progression via the aerobic glycolysis pathway. FBP2 levels were determined by quantitative PCR (qPCR) and western blotting.

Background: Expression of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) ELF3 antisense RNA 1 (ELF3-AS1) is observed in some cancers, while its role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is unclear. The study aimed to investigate the relationship between ELF3-AS1 and HCC based on database, bioinformatics, and statistical analysis.
Methods: In this study, Kruskal-Wallis test, Wilcoxon sign-rank test, logistic regression, Kaplan-Meier method, Cox regression analysis, gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA), and immunoinfiltration analysis were used to assess the relationship between ELF3-AS1 expression and clinical characteristics of HCC patients, the relationship between ELF3-AS1 expression and prognosis of HCC patients, and the possible functions of ELF3-AS1 in HCC.

Background: Mounting evidence has shown that systemic inflammation response index (SIRI), a novel prognostic biomarker based on peripheral lymphocyte, neutrophil and monocyte counts, is associated with poor prognosis for several tumors. However, the prognostic value of SIRI in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) undergoing transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) is elusive. Herein, we aimed to evaluate the correlation between SIRI and clinical outcomes in these patients.

Circular RNA (circRNAs) functions vital in the pathogenesis and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the expressions and functions of certain circRNAs on metastasis and proliferation of that cancer is still unclear. Bioinformation analysis and qRT-PCR indicated that CircC16orf62 was prominent upregulated in HCC of which the expression level was positively associated to cancer's malignant progression.

Circular RNA (circRNA) is a novel subclass of noncoding-RNA molecules that participate in development and progression of a variety of human diseases via sponging microRNAs (miRNAs). Until now, the contributions of circRNAs in chemoresistance of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain largely unknown. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the role of circRNA in cisplatin resistance of HCC.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a malignancy of liver cells. Recent studies have shown that HCC patients often have changes in the activities of transporters and metabolic enzymes, which can considerably affect drug pharmacokinetics and lead to drug toxicity. Doxorubicin (DOX) has been frequently administered in chemotherapy for HCC, but to our knowledge, the effects of HCC on the pharmacokinetics of DOX are unknown.
